Dorairaj Prabhakaran is a scientist, cardiologist, author, researcher and currently Executive Director of the Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC). [1] [2] [3]

Contents

Stanford University listed Prabhakaran amongst the top 2% scientists in the world. [4] Scopus and Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, listed him as the top-most researcher in Medicine in India terms of publications for the years 2009–2014. [5] Prabhakaran has also been elected President-Elect of the World Heart Federation (WHF) Board 2025-2026. [6]

He is a professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and Emory University, Atlanta, USA. [7] [8] [9] He is also a visiting Scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health and an International Fellow at the Population Research Institute, McMaster University. He is also a distinguished professor at Public Health Foundation of India. [10]
