Dream 16 was a mixed martial arts event held by Fighting and Entertainment Group's mixed martial arts promotion Dream. The event took place on September 25, 2010, in Nagoya, Japan. [1] The event aired live in North America on HDNet. [2]
This event served as the final for Dream's Light Heavyweight Grand Prix and crowned the first Dream Light Heavyweight Champion. [3] Gegard Mousasi and Tatsuya Mizuno who won their opening round bouts at Dream 15 fought for the title.
A previously announced featherweight bout with Joe Warren fighting Michihiro Omigawa has been scrapped from this card. [4]
Ikuhisa Minowa was previously reported to be fighting James Thompson, but instead fought Judo Olympic Gold Medalist Satoshi Ishii. [5] Thompson's last minute opponent ending up being Deep Megaton Champion Yusuke Kawaguchi.

James Thompson is a British professional mixed martial artist who competes in the Heavyweight division. A professional competitor since 2003, Thompson has also formerly competed for PRIDE FC, Bellator MMA, Cage Rage, EliteXC, Sengoku, DREAM, KSW, Rizin, and the SFL.
Ronaldo Souza dos Santos, nicknamed Jacaré, is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and submission grappler, competing in the UFC's Light Heavyweight division. A highly regarded grappler on the world stage, Souza is also the former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion, and has also formerly competed for DREAM, and Jungle Fight.
