The label was founded in 2005, and released records on a small scale for a group of local artists. In 2009 it expanded to include releases of independent film soundtracks. In 2009, they became the label for This Is The Kit and, in 2010, the UK label for Bear in Heaven.

Kill Rock Stars is an independent record label founded in 1991 by Slim Moon and Tinuviel Sampson, and based in both Olympia, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. The label has released a variety of work in different genres, but was originally known for its commitment to underground punk rock bands and the Olympia area music scene.
David Ian "Joe" Jackson is an English musician and singer-songwriter. Having spent years studying music and playing clubs, he scored a hit with his first release, "Is She Really Going Out with Him?", in 1979. Jackson is associated with the 1980s Second British Invasion of the US. He has also composed classical music. He has recorded 20 studio albums and received five Grammy Award nominations.

Guster is an American alternative rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Founding members Adam Gardner, Ryan Miller, and Brian Rosenworcel began practice sessions while attending Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and formed the band in 1991. The members met during the freshman Wilderness Orientation program in August of that year, playing publicly together as a trio two months later at the Midnight Cafe coffee house set in the common area of the Lewis Hall dormitory. While attending Tufts, the band lived at 139 College Avenue in Somerville, Massachusetts.

Keep It Together is the fourth studio album by the band Guster, released in June 2003. The album was recorded from 2001 to 2003 in Bearsville, New York, New York City, Burbank, California, and Shokan, New York. Its name is a play on the four cardinal directions. It was well received by the Pitchfork upon its release, earning a score of 8.4 out of 10, as well as being featured in Pitchfork's "Best New Music".
Jonathan Kane is an American musician and composer. Coming out of New York's Downtown Music scene of the early 1980s, Kane is known for his work with minimalist composers La Monte Young and Rhys Chatham, and was a founding member of NYC band Swans. He also leads his own minimalist blues band called Jonathan Kane's February.
"Deal Me a Hand" is the first single recorded and released by Bill Haley and the Saddle Men, who would later achieve fame under the name Bill Haley & His Comets. The song was composed by Artie Clark and featured "Ten Gallon Stetson" as the B-side. The single did not chart, but it paved the way for more successful endeavors by the group on the Essex label. The song was never reissued until it appeared on the Bear Family Records compilation The Real Birth Of Rock 'n' Roll in 2006.
