Duana Lama is a Nepalese swimmer who represented Nepal at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships and the 2024 Olympics. [1]

She was born in 2006 to a Nepalese father and an Irish mother. She is a student at the British International School, Phuket.[ citation needed ]

Career

In the 2019 South Asian Games, she won two silver and two bronze medals. [2]

Nepal Ratna Man Padavi Madan Kumar Bhandari, commonly known as Madan Bhandari, was a popular Nepali political leader belonging to the Communist Party of Nepal, a democratic communist party in Nepal. He defeated the incumbent Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai in a landslide victory in the 1991 general election. Known for his charismatic style, Bhandari propounded the popular communist principle or thought "People's Multiparty Democracy". He is widely regarded for peaking the Nepal's communist movement to a greater height. He died in a jeep accident in Dasdhunga, Chitwan, in 1993.

Nepal competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its twelfth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1964 Summer Olympics. The delegation included two track and field athletes; Tilak Ram Tharu and Pramila Rijal, one shooter Sneh Rana and two swimmers; Prasiddha Jung Shah and Shreya Dhital; all five competitors qualified for the Games through wildcard places from their respective sporting governing bodies. It was the smallest delegation sent by Nepal since the 1992 Summer Olympics. Shah was selected as the flag bearer for the opening and closing ceremonies. Four of the five athletes were unable to progress beyond the first stages of their respective events while Rana finished 54th in the women's 10 metre air rifle shooting competition.

Shreya Dhital is a Nepalese swimmer who represented Nepal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Shreya Dhital has grabbed 13 medals, including 11 golds in the 11th Galaxy Cup Swimming Championship. In the 200m open girl’s medley, Dhital clocked 3.16.35 mins, in 50m freestyle she had 33.28 secs and 41.85 secs in backstroke. She also competed in the 2009 and 2011 World Aquatics Championships.

Gaurika Singh is a Nepalese origin swimmer. She has held many national records since beginning her swimming career at the young age of eight. She has set the record of winning 4 gold medals in a season of the 2019 South Asian games held in Nepal. She won two silver and three bronze medals for swimming at the 2016 South Asian Games. She also participated at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as the youngest Olympian, representing Nepal in the Women's 100m backstroke. She has been included in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2021 Entertainment and Sports list.

Kabiraj Negi Lama is a notable figure in Nepalese Para Taekwondo. He is a successful coach who has significantly contributed to the sport in Nepal. Under his coaching, Nepal has won 10 international official medals, including 3 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze. He is a former Nepali taekwondo player, coach of the Nepal National Para Taekwondo Team, and the 2020 Summer Paralympics coach. He has participated in various taekwondo competitions. He is also the grandson of former minister Tilak Bahadur Negi Lama.

Alexander Gadegaard Shah is a Nepalese origin professional swimmer. He represented Nepal in 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the 100 meter freestyle. Shah was selected to the Olympics as a wild card qualifier. His father is Nepalese and mother is Danish. He is the brother of swimmer Sofia Shah.

The book was published on January 13, 2018 by FinePrint Publication. The author had been prominent in Nepali literature field for three decades at the time of publication of the book.

SheikhaAsma Al Thani is a Qatari mountaineer who is the first Qatari woman to summit Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Manaslu, K2 as well as the first Qatari female to climb Ama Dablam. She is also the first Qatari person to ski to the North Pole. On her ascent of Manaslu, she became the first Arab person to summit an eight-thousander without oxygen. She climbed Lhotse for the second time in May 2024, without the use of supplemental oxygen, becoming the first Arab to climb two 8000er without supplemental oxygen. She is Director of Marketing and Communications for the Qatar Olympic Committee. She is also a member of the ruling family of Qatar.
