Dubai Industrial City is the dedicated industrial park in Dubai, UAE, founded in 2004, covering an area of 560 million Sq ft.

Overview

The Industrial City includes food and beverage zones, base-metal and transportation zones, warehouses and an extensive conservation area. These areas are complemented with logistics, educational and mixed use developments. It is located near Al Maktoum Airport and Jebel Ali International Airport along Emirates Road. [1] The city is expected to accommodate around 500,000 people when it is completed by 2015.

Developments

In March 2009, the construction of Dubai industrial city's warehouses was completed, with the whole project then aimed for completion in 2015.[ citation needed ]

International Humanitarian City (IHC) is a hub for humanitarian emergency preparedness and response in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Founded in 2003 by the ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, IHC is a UAE free zone.

The government of Dubai took a decision to diversify from a trade-based, oil-reliant economy to one that is service and tourism-oriented. This has made real estate and other developments more valuable, thus resulting in a property boom from 2004 to 2006. Construction on a large scale has turned Dubai into one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. There are a number of large-scale projects which are currently under construction or are to be constructed in the future. Due to the heavy construction which is taking place in Dubai, 30,000 construction cranes, which are 25% of cranes worldwide, are operating in Dubai. Due to the burst of construction, Dubai has acquired various building-related records, which include: the world's tallest tower, the world's largest shopping mall, the world's largest fountain and the world's tallest hotel. Also under construction is Dubailand, which will be almost twice the size of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Maritime city was expected to be fully operational by 2012, and by January 2021 had completed 80% of the first phase's infrastructure works. In February 2022 it was announced that DP World would launch a major project to develop DMC's infrastructure at a cost of Dh140 million. Dubai International Airport Cargo Gateway, formerly Dubai Cargo Village, is an air cargo management facility located adjacent to the Dubai International Airport in Al Garhoud, Dubai, UAE. It is owned by the Dubai Airports Company. A similar facility is under construction at the Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali, 40 kilometres away from the present airport.

CentrePort Canada is a tri-modal dry port and Foreign Trade Zone located partly in northwest Winnipeg, Manitoba and partly in the Rural Municipality of Rosser, and situated adjacent to the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG). With 20,000 acres (81 km2) of industrial land, it is the largest tri-modal inland port and foreign trade zone in North America.
