The Dubai Polo Team is one of the most successful polo teams of all time, playing at the highest level globally. The Dubai Polo Team has bases in UK, Spain, USA, Argentina and Dubai.
The Dubai Polo Team have won the British Open for the Gold Cup and the Cartier Queens Cup many times. The Teams Patron Ali Albwardy, a successful business owner, also owns the Desert Palm Polo Club in Dubai. [1] Adolfo Cambiaso is a regular player on the Dubai Polo Team alongside Ali and Ali’s sons Tariq and Rashid. Other prominent players to have been on the team include Lolo Castanola, Lucas Monteverde, Pablo Mac Donough and Piki Diaz Alberdi and more recently Bartolome Castagnola and Jeta Castagnola.
Ali Albwardy was also President of Ham Polo Club for eight years.
During the 2011 season Dubai reached the quarter-final stages of both the Queen's and Gold Cups.
In 2010, the Team Consisting of Rashid Albwardy, Francisco Vismara, Matias MacDonough and Adolfo Cambiaso achieved Dubai's fourth win in the Queens Cup at Guards Polo Club. [2] They also won the Gold Cup at Cowdray in this year. [3]
In 2009, the team reached the semi-finals of the Queens Cup [4] and lost out in the final of the Gold Cup. [5]
They have Had successes at 12 goal level in the Dubai Trophy [6] at Ham Polo Club and they have been finalists in the Roehampton Trophy.
Dubai Polo Team have confirmed that they will be entering the Queen's Cup and the Gold Cup for the British Open in 2012. [7] The team will be:

Dubai won the 2012 Cartier Queen's Cup against Ayalya with a score of 12–11, the final goal coming from a Cambiaso penalty in extra time in the final chukka.
The 2013 Dubai team for the UK season consisted of: 1. Rashid Albwardy (2) 2. Nicolás Pieres (7) 3. Adolfo Cambiaso (10) 4. Alec White (3) [8]
Dubai reached the semi finals of the Queen's Cup at Guards [9] and the final of the Gold Cup British Open at Cowdray Park in Sussex. [10]
The team then played their first season in Sotogrande in Spain with the following line up: 1. Luis Domecq (2) 2. Martin Valent (5) 3. Adolfo Cambiaso (10) 4. Patricio Cieza (5) [11]

Lucas Monteverde is an Argentine professional polo player with a handicap of 9. He grew up near the town of 25 de Mayo, Buenos Aires Province, at the estancia El Rincón. The ranch is run by his father Lucas, and uncle Marcelo Monteverde, one of the world's most successful coaches. He is married to the Argentine model Loli Lopez and has two children.
The Guards Polo Club is an English polo club in Windsor, Berkshire. It was most closely associated with the British Royal Family. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was President of the club from its formation on 25 January 1955 until his death in April 2021. Queen Elizabeth II was its patron.

Mariano Aguerre, is a professional polo player in Argentina and the United States. He achieved a 10-goal handicap in the United States in 1994 and in Argentina in 1998. He is currently rated at 9 goals in both countries. He is a nine-time winner of the Argentine Open at Palermo, winning with three different teams: Ellerstina, Chapa I and La Dolfina. The Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame announced that Mariano was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017.
La Dolfina is an Argentine polo team, founded by Adolfo Cambiaso and Bartolomé Castagnola in 2000, based in the city of Cañuelas, Buenos Aires Province.
Mark Tomlinson is a professional polo player who plays for the England polo team, with a handicap of seven goals in Britain and six in Argentina.
Facundo Pieres Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Province is a professional Argentine polo player with a 10 goal handicap. In October 2022, he was ranked number one by the World Polo Tour, but fell to number two, behind Adolfo Cambiaso, in early 2023.

Ham Polo Club is a Hurlingham Polo Association polo club situated in Richmond in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, south-west London, England. It is one of the oldest polo clubs in the United Kingdom and the last surviving club in London. The club occupies a location between Richmond Park and the River Thames overlooked by Ham House, eight miles from Hyde Park Corner. The club's facilities include three polo fields, a stick and ball field, an exercise track, livery service, coaching and a members' clubhouse with a restaurant and bar which is managed by Blue Strawberry Group. Polo is played at Ham Polo Club between May and September. The club has around 70 playing members and several hundred social members.
The Roehampton trophy is the oldest polo trophy in the United Kingdom. The trophy was first played for at the Roehampton Club in 1902 and was won by Buccaneers. Today it is played for at the Ham Polo Club, the tournament is played for at an 6-goal level and the finals are held in August.
Martín Valent is a 5 Goal professional polo player as well as a competitive pato player. He played for Argentina in the 2009 Coronation Cup against England at Guards Polo Club alongside Adolfo Cambiaso, Facundo Pieres and Gustavo Usandizaga. Valent also Manages Ali Albwardy's Desert Palm Polo Club in Dubai and Dubai Polo Team in the UK.
