Dubai initiative

The Dubai Initiative (DI) was a joint venture between the Dubai School of Government (DSG) and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Established in 2004, it was based at the Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. The Dubai Initiative was closed on 31 December 2011.

DI ran an annual fellowship program for doctoral candidates, post-docs, and practitioners in policy-relevant fields related to the Middle East. It had an internship program for students and sponsors research by faculty, students, and scholars on the Middle East. DI held an annual conference and public events aimed at generating ideas and debate on relevant policy issues.

The Center for Public Leadership (CPL) is an academic research center at Harvard University that provides teaching, research and training in the practical skills of leadership for people in government, nonprofits, and business. Located at Harvard Kennedy School, CPL was established in 2000 through a gift from the Wexner Foundation.

He is also a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government previously known as Dubai School of Government is a research and teaching institution in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which focuses on public policy in the Arab world. The school was established in 2005 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. The founding Executive Dean was Yassar Jarrar.

Rochester Institute of Technology of Dubai

Rochester Institute of Technology - Dubai is a satellite campus of Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, USA, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The college is located in the Dubai Silicon Oasis and started offering part-time graduate courses in Fall 2008. In 2009, the university began its full-time graduate program. RIT Dubai's first graduating class was in 2010, with the graduation ceremony taking place in Rochester, NY. In 2010, a full-time undergraduate program was started as part of the university's planned expansion. In the fall of 2011, RIT Dubai moved its campus to a new premises to accommodate the growing student body. By 2019, RIT plans to expand the campus to 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2) to provide facilities for 4,000 students.

Provision of education in the UAE began shortly after the establishment of the federation with the inception of the first university in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates University. Since then, the country has progressed with efforts of ensuring high literacy rates, modern programs and women's share in education. It works on improving its youths education which is why the agenda 2021 has been set. The UAE currently devotes approximately 25 percent of total federal government spending to education. The overall literacy rate is 90%.

University of the Middle East Project Independent non-governmental organization

University of the Middle East Project (UME) is an independent non-governmental organization whose people-to-people exchange programs bring together secondary school educators from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the United States with the aim of enhancing pedagogical skills and encouraging cross-cultural dialogue and understanding. In the United States, UME is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, registered as The Center for Higher Education in the Middle East, Inc.

Tarik Yousef el-Magariaf is an economist who has worked as the chief executive of Silatech and as a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on the Arab World. He specialises in economies of the Arab world.

The Middle East Youth Initiative is a program at the Wolfensohn Center for Development, housed in the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution. It was launched in July 2006 as a joint effort between the Wolfensohn Center and the Dubai School of Government.

Sunny Varkey Indian entrepreneur and businessman

The Roy and Lila Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, formerly known as the Ash Institute, was established in 2003 and is part of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Varkey Foundation

The Varkey Foundation, initially the Varkey GEMS Foundation, is a global charitable foundation focused on improving the standards of education for underprivileged children. It was formed in 2010 by Indian businessman Sunny Varkey, the founder and chairman of GEMS Education, the world's largest operator of kindergarten-to-grade-12 schools. The foundation's main focuses are improving global teacher capacity by training tens of thousands of teachers and principals in developing countries; providing access to education via a variety of programmes and projects; and advocating for change in, and conducting research that can help develop, education policies worldwide.
