This is the second movie of the Rajesh Khanna-Hema Malini pair with a reincarnation theme after Mehbooba. Rajesh Khanna received the 1982 All-India Critics Association (AICA) Best Actor Award for Kudrat. The film was a box office hit and it won the Filmfare Award for Best Story.

Kagbeni is a 2008 Nepali movie, loosely based on W. W. Jacobs's 1902 horror short story The Monkey's Paw. Kagbeni is the directorial debut of Bhusan Dahal. The name of the movie is taken from a tourist place Kagbeni in the valley of the Kali Gandaki, which is a two-hour trek from Muktinath. Kagbeni is considered to be a movie which changed the way people look at Nepali cinema, because it is seen as the first successful non-commercial movie in Nepal which was able to leave its mark in the film industry. Nepali critics now often describe non-commercial movies as 'post- Kagbeni era films'. Kagbeni was one of the few Nepali films during its time to manifest cinematography as one of the important elements in cinema.

Kathi Kantha Rao (evadnaina madathetestadu) (Telugu: కత్తి కాంతా రావు: ఎవడ్నయినా మడతెట్టేస్తాడు) is a 2010 Telugu comedy film directed by E. V. V. Satyanarayana and produced by Eedara Srinivasa Rao, Eedara Ravikumar, Eedupuganti Subramanyeshwar Rao, and Eedupuganti Purnachandra Rao under Big B Productions banner. The film stars Allari Naresh and Kamna Jethmalani in lead roles. The film soundtrack was composed by singer-turned-composer Mallikarjun with cinematography by Adusumilli Vijay Kumar and editing by Gautham Raju. The dialogues and story for the film were written by popular writer Prasad Varma. The film released on 10 December 2010 to positive reviews. This was Satyanarayana's last film as a director before his death in 2011.

Chhakka Panja is a 2016 Nepalese comedy-drama film directed and produced by Deepa Shree Niraula in her directorial debut. The film features an ensemble cast of Priyanka Karki, Deepak Raj Giri, Jeetu Nepal, Kedar Ghimire, Buddhi Tamang, Shivahari Poudel, Barsha Raut and Namrata Sapkota. The film is first part of Chakka Panja series and tells the story of Raja (Giri), a rich but illiterate man and his group of friends, Ateet (Poudel), Saraswati (Nepal), Magne (Ghimire) and Buddhi (Tamang). Raja, who is devoted to the chase, gives in to family pressure and gets married, but different events unfolds in his and his friends' life that gives rise to a comedy of errors and situations. The film received highly positive reviews for its screenplay and story, performances, humour and its social setting and message. The film was an "All Time Blockbuster" at the box office, breaking several records and becoming the highest grossing Nepali film of all time, until it was overtaken by its 3rd part. However, due to piracy problems, the movie was released on YouTube. Due to the piracy, the international screening of the movie was highly affected. The film has four sequels :- Chhakka Panja 2, Chhakka Panja 3, Chhakka Panja 4 and Chhakka Panja 5, all of which were commercial blockbusters and is the highest grossing Nepali movie franchise.

Basain is a 1957 Nepali novel written by Lil Bahadur Chettri. It was published by Sajha Prakashan and is included in the curriculum of Tribhuvan University. Chettri, an Assamese Nepali writer wrote this book incorporating the experience of different Nepalese immigrants in India. The book depicts life of a poor farmer and his family in a rural village in hilly Nepal and the circumstances under which they are forced to emigrate away from their village.
