Australian hip hop traces its origins to the early 1980s and is largely inspired by hip hop and other urban musical genres from the United States. As the form matured, Australian hip hop has become a commercially viable style of music that is no longer restricted to the creative underground, with artists such as The Kid Laroi, 1200 Techniques, Manu Crooks, Briggs, Baker Boy, Koolism, Hilltop Hoods and Bliss n Eso achieving notable fame. Australian hip-hop is still primarily released through independent record labels, which are often owned and operated by the artists themselves. Despite its genesis as an offshoot of American hip hop, Australian hip hop has developed a distinct personality that reflects its evolution as an Australian musical style.
Bliss n Eso are an Australian hip hop trio based in Sydney, and were originally known as Bliss n' Esoterikizm for their debut EP The Arrival. Bliss n Eso are currently signed to Melbourne record label Illusive Sounds, and are managed and booked by label co-founders Adam Jankie and Matt Gudinski. Bliss n Eso have released six studio albums which include three number 1 debuts on the ARIA Charts. They have also won two ARIA Award for Best Urban Release for their 2008 album Flying Colours and for Best Music Video for their 2017 single "Moments". Eso, under the alias Esoterik, released an album entitled "My Astral Plane" in May 2018.
Matthew John Corby is an Australian singer-songwriter. He achieved his commercial breakthrough with his fourth EP, Into the Flame (2011), which peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Singles Chart, and by April 2012, was certified 6× Platinum by ARIA. His 2011 single "Brother" and his 2013 single "Resolution" both won ARIA Music Awards for Song of the Year. He is the 26th Australian male singer and the 100th Australian act to reach the number one position on the ARIA albums chart with his debut album Telluric (2016).
Chance Dylan Waters, is an independent Australian hip hop artist and record producer. As Phatchance, Waters was a founder of the group, Natural Causes, in 2003 which issued an album, The Incidental Noise Demo, and toured nationally. The group disbanded later that year.
Running on Air is the fourth studio album by the Australian hip hop trio Bliss n Eso. It was released on 30 July 2010. The album debuted at No. 1 in Australia for the week commencing 9 August 2010. It has since been certified Platinum by ARIA. It was nominated by Australian radio station, Triple J for Album of the Year, along with Megan Washington's I Believe You Liar, and Birds of Tokyo's Birds of Tokyo.
Mark Landon, better known by his stage name M-Phazes, is an Australian-born producer based in LA. He has produced records for Logic, Demi Lovato, Madonna, Eminem, Kehlani, Zara Larsson, Remi Wolf, Kiiara, Noah Cyrus, and Cautious Clay. He produced and wrote Eminem’s “Bad Guy” off 2015’s Grammy Winner for Best Rap Album of the Year “The Marshall Mathers LP 2.” He produced and wrote “Sober” by Demi Lovato, “playinwitme” by KYLE ft. Kehlani, “Adore” by Amy Shark, “I Got So High That I Found Jesus” by Noah Cyrus, and “Painkiller” by Ruel ft Denzel Curry.
Circus In The Sky is the fifth studio album by the Australian hip hop trio Bliss n Eso, following 2010's Running On Air. It was released on 28 June 2013 through Illusive Sounds. Bliss N Eso began recording the album in late 2012. The album revolves around themes such as optimism, freedom, and peace. The album instantly reached No. 1 on the iTunes albums chart upon release, and debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The album was positively received and was accredited gold. Bliss N Eso toured in support for the album on the House Of Dreams Tour in 2013 and the Circus Under The Stars Tour in 2014. Circus In The Sky was nominated for an ARIA Music Award for Best Urban Album.
'Reservoir Dogs' is a song by Australian hip hop trio Bliss n Eso, featuring Seth Sentry, Pez, 360 and Drapht. The song was released on 21 June 2013 through Illusive Sounds, as the third single from Circus in the Sky. The song peaked at No. 96 on the ARIA Singles Chart and finished at No. 123 on the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2013.
"House of Dreams" is a song by Australian hip hop trio Bliss n Eso. It was released on 8 March 2013 through Illusive Sounds as the first single from their fifth studio album Circus in the Sky. Critical reception to song was generally positive. 'House of Dreams' debuted on the ARIA Singles Chart at No. 47 and spent 5 weeks on the chart. It also finished at No. 94 on the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2013. Bliss n Eso performed the song alongside 'My Life' at the ARIA Music Awards of 2013 where they were nominated for 'Best Urban Album' for Circus in the Sky. The song was also used in a promo the 2013 AFL Grand Final. In July 2013 Bliss n Eso began their 'House of Dreams Tour'.

It was released on 17 December 2010 through Illusive Sounds as the third single from the trio's fourth studio album, 2010's Running on Air. The song was written by MC Bliss and MC Eso. Reflections debuted at No. 86 on the ARIA Singles Chart, and peaked at No. 53. It also finished at No. 53 on the Triple J Hottest 100 for 2010. No music video was made for the song, however the audio of the song uploaded to Bliss n Eso's channel currently has over 1 million views. "Reflections" received highly positive reviews and is regarded to be one of the best songs on Running on Air. In 2013 "Reflections" was certified gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association for sales/shipments exceeding 35,000 copies.
Addicted is a song by Australian hip hop trio Bliss n Eso. It was released 1 August 2010 through Illusive Sounds as the second single from the trio's fourth studio album Running On Air. It debuted at No. 93 on the ARIA Singles Chart, peaked at No. 38 and went on to spend a total of 33 weeks on the chart, making it one of 'Bliss n Eso's' biggest hits. "Addicted" finished at No. 23 on the Triple J Hottest 100 for 2010. The song's music video was created using stop motion animation with graffiti. "Addicted" received highly positive reviews and is regarded to be one of the best songs on "Running On Air".
'Down by the River' is a song by Australian hip hop trio Bliss n Eso. It released on 14 May 2010 through Illusive Sounds as the first single from the trio's fourth studio album Running On Air. The song debuted at No. 83 on the ARIA Singles Chart, it peaked at No. 45 on its 12th week on the chart. It also finished at No. 41 on the Triple J Hottest 100 for 2010. In 2013, 'Down by the River' was accredited gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association for sales/shipments of 35,000 copies.
Celia Pavey, known professionally as Vera Blue, is an Australian singer-songwriter signed with Mercury Records Australia, which is part of Universal Music Australia. Her folk-inspired album This Music peaked at number 14 on the Australian ARIA Charts in July 2013. Pavey sings, and plays the guitar and the violin. She placed third in season 2 of The Voice Australia.
Sticky Fingers is an indie band formed in 2008 in Sydney. The band consists of Dylan Frost, Paddy Cornwall (bass/vocals), Seamus Coyle, Beaker Best (drums/percussion) and Freddy Crabs (keys/synth). Former band member Taras Hrubyj-Piper (guitar/keyboards) left the band in 2009, shortly after their debut EP Helping Hand was released.
Jessica Alyssa Cerro, who performs as Montaigne, is an Australian art pop singer-songwriter-musician. Her debut album, Glorious Heights, was released on 5 August 2016, which peaked at No. 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2016 she won Breakthrough Artist – Release for the album and was nominated for three other categories. In April 2016 she was a featured vocalist on Hilltop Hoods' track, "1955", which reached No. 2 on the ARIA Singles Chart. She was supposed to represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with her song "Don't Break Me", until the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She represented Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Technicolour", but did not qualify from the semi-final.
DMA's are an Australian three-piece rock band formed in 2012 in Sydney. The band is composed of Tommy O'Dell, Matt Mason, and Johnny Took. They gained popularity for their debut single "Delete" and for their self-titled EP released in 2014. The band's moniker - DMA's - comes from their former name, "The Dirty MA's".

Lime Cordiale are an Australian pop rock group from Sydney, New South Wales, formed in 2009. The band consists of brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach, with additional touring members James Jennings, Felix Bornholt and Nicholas Polovineo. They released their debut studio album Permanent Vacation in 2017. The group have performed at Groovin' the Moo and South by Southwest (SXSW). At the 2020 ARIA Music Awards they were nominated in eight categories and won Breakthrough Artist – Release for their second album, 14 Steps to a Better You.
