Evan Louis Katz (born January 7, 1981) [1] [2] is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his directorial debut Cheap Thrills (2013). In 2014, he directed the first segment in the horror anthology film ABCs of Death 2 . He is the brother of producer Peter Katz. [3]

The Orphanage is a 2007 gothic supernatural horror film directed by J. A. Bayona in his directorial full-length debut. It premiered at South by Southwest (SXSW) on March 8, 2013, and was acquired by Drafthouse Films and Snoot Entertainment. It was released on March 21, 2014, in the United States. Cheap Thrills received generally positive reviews from critics but was a box-office bomb, grossing $59,424 against a $100,000 budget.

Small Crimes premiered at South by Southwest on March 11, 2017, and was released by Netflix on April 28, 2017.
Sunshine Superman is a 2014 documentary film that depicts the life and death of Carl Boenish, an American freefall cinematographer considered the "father of BASE jumping". The film was produced and directed by Marah Strauch and produced by Eric Bruggemann. It is a co-production of Scissor Kick Films (US) and Flimmer Films, and co-producer Lars Løge (Norway). It premiered as an Opening Night film at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 4, 2014. It was released in North America by Magnolia Pictures on May 22, 2015, and later internationally by Universal Pictures. It had its North American broadcast premiere on CNN on January 17, 2016.
