Eugene Norman Veasey (born January 9, 1933) [1] is a former Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Veasey attended the local schools, before completing his secondary education at the Peddie School, and receiving a B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1954, and an LL.B. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1957. From his admission to the Delaware bar in 1958 until 1993, Veasey practiced was the law firm of Richards, Layton & Finger. There, he became a partner in 1963, managing partner in the 1970s, and president of the firm in the mid-1980s. [2]
In 1992, Veasey was nominated by Governor Michael N. Castle to a seat as Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court. He was unanimously confirmed by the Delaware State Senate, and was invested as chief justice on April 7, 1992. [2] Veasey stepped down from the court in May, 2004. [3]

Harlan is usually called John Marshall Harlan II to distinguish him from his grandfather, John Marshall Harlan, who served on the U.S. Supreme Court from 1877 to 1911.
Margaret Hilary Marshall is an American jurist who served as the 24th chief justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, the first woman to hold the position. She was chief justice from 1999 to 2010. On July 21, 2010, she announced her retirement. She was Senior Fellow of the Yale Corporation until she retired from the board in 2016, Senior Counsel at Choate Hall & Stewart, and a member of the Council of the American Law Institute. Marshall was elected in 2017 to the American Philosophical Society.
Thomas Che Goldstein is an American lawyer. He is known for his advocacy before and blog about the Supreme Court of the United States. He was a founding partner of Goldstein and Howe, a Washington, D.C., firm specializing in Supreme Court litigation, and was, until the end of 2010, a partner at Akin Gump, where he was co-head of the litigation and Supreme Court practices. He retired from Goldstein & Russell in March 2023.
