East Noble School Corporation

East Noble School Corporation is the largest of the four school corporations in Noble County, Indiana, covering the eastern third of the county. It includes the areas of Orange, Wayne, Allen and Swan Townships, and serves to educate the children located in the cities and towns of Rome City, Brimfield, Kendallville, Avilla and LaOtto. [1]

History

East Noble School Corporation has its origins from the school consolidations that occurred in Indiana in the 1950s & 1960s, due to an act of the Indiana General Assembly, [2] [3] At that time, the high schools in Rome City, Avilla and Kendallville were made into junior high/middle schools. In 1966, construction of East Noble High School was completed. The first class entered East Noble (also known as EN) the fall of 1966. East Noble's first graduating class was in 1967 .

Realignment & the closing of LaOtto Elementary

From 1965-2009, elementary aged students attended LaOtto Elementary School for grades K-5. In 2009, East Noble School Corporation's School Board of trustees voted to close LaOtto Elementary. This also resulted making Rome City, Avilla and Kendallville Elementary/Middle Schools for K-6 students, and created East Noble Middle School in Kendallville for grades 7 & 8. [4]

Memphis City Schools

On March 8, 2011, residents voted to disband the city school district, effectively merging it with the Shelby County School District. The merger took effect July 1, 2013. After much legal maneuvering, all six incorporated municipalities planned to create separate school districts in 2014. East Noble High School is a public high school located in Kendallville, Indiana and is the only high school that is part of the East Noble School Corporation. It serves to educate more than 1,000 students from the cities and towns of Rome City, Brimfield, Kendallville, Avilla and LaOtto.

Avilla R-13 School District

Avilla R-13 School District or Avilla R-XIII School District is a rural public elementary and middle school located in Avilla, Missouri, USA. For grades kindergarten through eight, it is the only school in the district. In the 2000 census, the district schooled 153 pupils and had 13 teachers on staff. Programs include basketball and agriculture, and the school boasts a low student to teacher ratio. Avilla is located at 37°11′38″N94°07′44″W, in Jasper County ten miles east of Carthage, Missouri on MO Route 96 and four miles west of the Lawrence County line.

Central Noble High School is a public high school in the town of Albion, Indiana, United States. It is the high school for the Central Noble Community Schools. Students from Albion Elementary, Wolf Lake Elementary, and Central Noble Middle School are sent to the high school after passing the eighth grade.

Jane Long Academy

Jane Long Academy, formerly Jane Long Middle School, is a public grade 6-12 middle and high school in Sharpstown, Houston, Texas. It is a part of the Houston Independent School District. Long, in Sharpstown Section 1, serves portions of Sharpstown, Gulfton, and Shenandoah for middle school. Jane Long serves Sharpstown original sections 1, 1A, and 2.
