Eastern Shipbuilding Group is a shipbuilder based in Panama City, Florida that operates facilities in the Florida Panhandle in Panama City, Allanton, and Port St. Joe.

The company was founded in 1976 as Eastern Marine by Brian R. D’Isernia as a builder of fishing vessels, and began diversifying into constructing custom ships in the 1980s, beginning with the delivery of its first platform supply vessel (PSV) for the offshore oil and gas industry in 1981. [1] [2] In 1988, the company shut down, but was re-founded at the Panama City shipyard in 1997 as Eastern Shipbuilding Group, and purchased the former-Halter Marine shipyard facility in Allanton in 2000. [2] As of 2009, Eastern employed about 900 people at its two shipyards, covering about 151 acres. [3] Eastern primarily built tugboats and oil industry support vessels through the 2000s and into the 2010s, delivering 93 tugboats and 33 PSVs and similar vessels between 2006 and 2016. [1] In 2012, it began leasing a site in Port St. Joe for post-launch outfitting. [4] By 2016, the company had annual sales of about $300 million, with 1,700 employees and facilities that covered 326 acres. [1] While its primary market remains offshore supply vessels, Eastern received two major orders for other ship types in the mid 2010s—the United States Coast Guard's Offshore Patrol Cutter in 2016, [5] and the Staten Island Ferry's Ollis-class ferry in 2017. The Company is a provider of marine services to exploration and production, oilfield service, offshore construction and military customers. Its Upstream segment owns and operates fleets of United States flagged, new generation OSVs and United States-owned fleets of DP-2 and DP-3 MPSVs.

Ferguson's also built three of the world's first roll-on/roll-off Hybrid powered car ferries MV Catriona, MV Hallaig and MV Lochinvar.

Port Weller Dry Docks was a shipbuilder located on the Welland Canal at the Lake Ontario entrance. The shipbuilder was founded in 1946 and the site was initially owned by the Government of Canada for storage purchases. The shipyard expanded to include ship repair, and reconstruction work. In 1956, the drydock was sold to the Upper Lakes Shipping Company, which began the construction of vessels at the site. The shipyard twice went insolvent, most recently in 2015. Port Weller Dry Docks was used to build, refit and repair cargo vessels.

Bay Shipbuilding Company (BSC) is a shipyard and dry dock company in Sturgeon Bay, Door County, Wisconsin. As of 2015, Bay Ships was a subsidiary of Fincantieri Marine Group and produces articulated tug and barges, OPA-90 compliant double hull tank ships and offshore support vessels. It also provides repair services to the lake freighter fleet. In the past the shipyard located in Sturgeon Bay has operated under several different names and traces its history back to 1918. The company also built 40,000 ton Lake freighters in the 1970s and 1980s. While capable of producing large freighters, the yard has not built a freighter over 20,000 tons since 1987. Former names of the shipyards at the 2015 location of Bay Shipbuilding are: Sturgeon Bay Shipbuilding, Leathem D. Smith Shipbuilding Company and Christy Corporation.

MV <i>John F. Kennedy</i> Staten Island Ferry vessel.

The MV John F. Kennedy is the last remaining active Kennedy class ferry operating for the Staten Island Ferry, carrying passengers between Whitehall Terminal in Manhattan and St. George Terminal in Staten Island. Built by the Levingston Shipbuilding Company between 1963 and 1965 for the Department of Marine and Aviation, the John F. Kennedy was delivered May 14, 1965.

The Ollis-class ferries are passenger ferries that are planned to enter service for the Staten Island Ferry in the early 2020s. The class is named after US Army Staff Sergeant Michael Ollis, a Staten Islander who was killed in action during the War in Afghanistan in 2013.

Horizon Shipbuilding is a shipyard located in Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
