Beloit is a city in Rock County, Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 36,657 people. Beloit is a principal city of the Janesville-Beloit Metropolitan Statistical Area and is included in the Madison Combined Statistical Area.
The Wisconsin Badgers are the athletic teams representing the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Amos Alonzo Stagg was an American athlete and college coach in multiple sports, primarily American football. He served as the head football coach at the International YMCA Training School (1890–1891), the University of Chicago (1892–1932), and the College of the Pacific (1933–1946), compiling a career college football record of 314–199–35 (.605). His undefeated Chicago Maroons teams of 1905 and 1913 were recognized as national champions. He was also the head basketball coach for one season at Chicago (1920–1921), and the Maroons' head baseball coach for twenty seasons.
The Beloit Sky Carp are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. They are located in Beloit, Wisconsin, and play their home games at ABC Supply Stadium. They previously played at Harry C. Pohlman Field from its opening in 1982 until moving into their current ballpark in August 2021.
Beloit College is a private liberal arts college in Beloit, Wisconsin. Founded in 1846, when Wisconsin was still a territory, it is the state's oldest continuously operated college. It has an enrollment of roughly 1,000 undergraduate students.

The Colorado Buffaloes are the athletic teams that represent the University of Colorado Boulder. The university sponsors 16 varsity sports teams. Both the men's and women's teams are called the Buffaloes or, rarely, the Golden Buffaloes. "Lady Buffs" referred to the women's teams beginning in the 1970s, but was officially dropped in 1993. The nickname was selected by the campus newspaper in a contest with a $5 prize in 1934 won by Andrew Dickson of Boulder.
Ron Ernst is an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin from 1991 to 2022, compiling a record of 193–114. Ernst won his 100th game during the 2006 season and won more games than any other coach in program history. Ernst also served as Ripon's head men's golf coach, associate professor in the Department of Exercise Science and assistant athletic director.

Thomas Emmet Mills was an American football player, coach of football, basketball, and baseball, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Creighton University (1915–1919), Beloit College (1920–1925), Georgetown University (1930–1932), and Arkansas State College (1934–1935), compiling a career college football record of 63–45–12. Mills was the head baseball coach at the University of Notre Dame from 1927 to 1929, during which time he was also an assistant football coach at the school under Knute Rockne. In addition, Mills was the head basketball coach at Creighton (1916–1920), Beloit (1920–1923), and Arkansas State (1935–1936), amassing a career college basketball record of 107–25. Mills died at the age of 60 on February 25, 1944, of a heart attack at the Rockne Memorial Field House in Notre Dame, Indiana. He served as the director of the field house for the four years before his death.
Timothy Charles Dillard is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers. He is a pregame and postgame analyst for Brewers television broadcasts on Bally Sports Wisconsin.
William J. "Bo" Hanley was an American football player and coach. He served a head coach for the Kenosha Maroons of the National Football League (NFL) for one season in 1924. Hanley played college football at Marquette University, where he was nicknamed the "Marquette Marvel".
David Christopher Aranda is an American football coach. He is the head football coach at Baylor University, a position he has held since 2020. He previously served as the defensive coordinator at LSU, Wisconsin, Utah State, Hawaii, Delta State, and Cal Lutheran.

Edward Strong Merrill was an American track athlete, college football player and coach, and osteopathic physician. He served as the head football coach at Lawrence University (1902), Colorado College (1903) and Occidental College (1905–1906). Merrill attended Beloit College in Wisconsin, starring in football, baseball, and track before graduating in 1902.
Carl T. "Pill" Nelson was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin from 1950 to 1961 and Milton College in Milton, Wisconsin from 1962 to 1964, compiling a career college football coaching record of 70–46–1. Nelson also the athletic director at Milton from 1965 until his retirement in 1967. He also coached track and golf at the school.
Charles Arthur Fairweather was an American college football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Washington University in St. Louis in 1905 and at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin from 1906 to 1907, compiling a career coaching record of 12–13–3. Fairweather played college football at the University of Illinois, where he was team captain in 1904.
Carl A. "Eggs" Eggebrecht was an American football and basketball coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Lombard College in Galesburg, Illinois in 1920, Heidelberg College—now known as Heidelberg University—in Tiffin, Ohio from 1921 to 1923, Central State Teachers College—now known as the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point—in Stevens Point, Wisconsin from 1927 to 1928, and Midland College—now known as Midland University—in Fremont, Nebraska from 1935 to 1936, compiling a career college football coaching record of 25–28–5.
The 1946 Midwest Conference football season was the season of college football played by the nine member schools of the Midwest Conference (MWC), formally known as the "Midwest Collegiate Athletic Conference", as part of the 1946 college football season.
