Edward "Ed" Hatchett is an American attorney and politician from Glasgow,Kentucky. A Democrat,Hatchett was the elected State Auditor in Kentucky from 1996 to 2004. [1]

Hatchett began practicing law in 1977. From 1977 to 1988 he was vice president,trust and investment officer and secretary of New Farmers National Bank of Glasgow. Julian Morton Carroll was an American lawyer and politician from the state of Kentucky. A Democrat,he served as the 54th governor of Kentucky from 1974 to 1979,succeeding Wendell H. He was the first Kentucky governor from the state's far-western Jackson Purchase region. James Proctor Knott was a U.S. Representative from Kentucky and served as the 29th Governor of Kentucky from 1883 to 1887. Born in Kentucky,he moved to Missouri in 1850 and began his political career there. He served as Missouri Attorney General from 1859 to 1861,when he resigned rather than swear an oath of allegiance to the federal government just prior to the outbreak of the Civil War.
Preston Hopkins Leslie was the 26th Governor of Kentucky from 1871 to 1875,and territorial governor of Montana from 1887 to 1889. He ascended to the office of governor by three different means. First,he succeeded Kentucky governor John W. Stevenson upon the latter's resignation to accept a seat in the United States Senate in 1871. After serving in the Kentucky legislature,he was chosen as a delegate to the state's third constitutional convention in 1849 and was one of three commissioners charged with revising its code of laws,a task finished in 1854. A Democrat,he was elected to two consecutive terms in the U.S. House of Representatives where he supported several proposed compromises to avert the Civil War and blamed the Radical Republicans for their failure.
