Eddy Lejeune (born 4 April 1961), is a Belgian former International motorcycle trials rider and 1982, 1983 and 1984 FIM Trial World Championship title holder. Lejeune was also a seven-time Belgian Trials National Champion. [1]
Born in Verviers, Belgium, Lejeune followed in the footsteps of his elder brother Jean Marie Lejeune who was Belgian Trials Champion in 1974, 1977 and 1978. He began as a schoolboy riding a Honda and after impressing at youth level was signed by the Honda Factory in 1979 at the age of 16. [2]
In 1980, Lejeune won his first Belgian title and placed 4th in the FIM Trial World Championship, winning his first world championship trial on home ground at the Belgian round. 1981 was another Belgian title and another 4th in the World Championship for the young Belgian. Lejeune ran away with the World Championship in 1982 taking 9 wins and 2 podiums throughout the season, also retaining his Belgian title. [1] He defended the title for Honda at both World and National level during the 1983 and 1984 seasons. [1] 1985 was a battle for the title between Eddy and Fantic factory rider Thierry Michaud. Lejeune won the Belgian and Austrian rounds and podiumed at 8 of the other 10 rounds, but was beaten by Michaud and wound up the season in 2nd place.
1987 saw another season long battle with not only Michaud but with his own Honda teammate Steve Saunders. After sharing almost all of the wins and podiums between them it all came down to the final round in Finland. Lejeune had a rough day finishing 13th with rivals Michaud and Saunders taking 1st and 3rd at the trial, and 1st and 2nd in the championship. [2] 1987 didn't produce Lejeune's usual results and at the end of the season Honda decided not to renew his contract.
Ignacio Bulto, son of Bultaco founder Paco Bulto was at this time pushing his new Merlin trials bike line and was quick to sign Lejeune for the 1988 season. [3] Lejeune finished a creditable 6th in the championship with podiums in Luxemburg and Belgium, but unfortunately Merlin folded at the end of the season. Lejeune was contracted by Montesa for the 1989 and 1990 seasons then retired at the end of 1990.
In 1998, Lejeune had a bad road accident which left him with head injuries which he still suffers with today. [2] All three of the Lejeune brothers, Eddy, Jean Marie and Eric had a one off ride in the 2011 Scottish Six Days Trial. [4]

Massimiliano "Max" Biaggi is an Italian former professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer who achieved six World Championships. With four 250 cc road race titles and two in World Superbikes, he is one of only two riders to score championships across both disciplines.
Montesa Honda is a subsidiary business of Honda, which assembles several models of motorcycles and bicycles in Barcelona, Spain. It was formed in 1944 by Pere Permanyer and Francesc Xavier "Paco" Bultó. The business was Spanish-owned until entering into an association with Honda.

Georges Jobé was a Belgian professional motocross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1979 to 1992. Jobé is notable for being a five-time FIM motocross world champion and a nine-time Belgian motocross national champion. He was named Belgian Sportsman of the year in 1987 and 1992.
Eric Geboers was a Belgian professional motocross racer and racing driver. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1980 to 1990, winning five world championships in eleven years. Geboers is notable for being the first motocross competitor to win world championships in the 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc divisions. Geboers' 39 career Grand Prix victories ranks him fifth overall among motocross world championship competitors.
Mike Di Meglio is a French Grand Prix motorcycle road racer and three-time world champion claiming the 2008 125cc title, as well as winning the 2022 & 2017-2018 FIM Endurance World Championship. Since the 2018-2019 FIM EWC season, Di Meglio has raced for F.C.C. TSR Honda France. From 2019 on, he also competes in the MotoE World Cup aboard an Energica Ego Corsa. He twice won the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race in 2017 on Yamaha and in 2020 on the Honda CBR. He also twice won the Bol d'Or 24-hour motorcycle endurance race on Circuit Paul Ricard. In 2017 Yamaha and 2018 Honda.

Stefan Bradl is a German professional motorcycle racer. Bradl is best known for winning the 2011 Moto2 World Champion. Then he made the move to MotoGP in 2012 with LCR Honda. While in MotoGP, Bradl is best known for his performance at Laguna Seca getting the pole position and finishing second in the race behind Marc Marquez, ahead of Valentino Rossi. Bradl finished the 2013 season 7th, despite missing two races due to injury. This proved to be his highest ever MotoGP finish.
Tommy Searle is an English professional motocross and supercross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 2005 to 2008 and competed in the AMA Motocross Championships in 2009 and 2010. He returned to the Motocross World Championships from 2011 to 2019. Searle is a three-time MX2 World vice-champion & a four-time British Motocross Champion. His fourteen MX2 Grand Prix victories make him Britain's most successful MX2 rider and ranks third in total victories across all classes to multiple world champions David Thorpe and Jeff Smith.
Gino Daniel Rea is an English motorcycle racer. In August 2022 he suffered serious injuries in a practice crash at the Suzuka 8 Hours. After emergency hospital treatment including an induced coma, after a month he was transferred by a specialised medical aircraft from Japan to London.
Tadeusz Błażusiak, also known as Taddy Blazusiak is a Polish motorcycle rider who has won professional titles in trial, enduro and endurocross. He won the Erzberg Rodeo, an annual Austrian extreme enduro event, five times; the FIM Indoor Enduro World Cup six times; and the AMA EnduroCross Championship five times.
Bernard Schreiber, is an American former international motorcycle trials rider. He became the only American to win the FIM Trial World Championship in 1979. Schreiber is also four-time winner of the NATC Trials Championship, winning the title in 1978, 1982, 1983 and 1987. In 2000 he was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and, in 2020 he was named an FIM Legend.
Theresa Bäuml, is a German Women's International motorcycle trials rider. She was the 2015 German Women's and FIM European Women's Trials Champion. In 2016 Bäuml retained her European title.
Tim Gajser is a Slovenian professional motocross racer. He has competed in the FIM Motocross World Championships since 2012. Gajser is notable for being a five-time motocross world champion(4 MXGP, 1 MX2).
Fred Crosset, is a former Belgian International motorcycle trials rider. Crosset is a 10 time Belgian Trials Champion and American NATC Pro Champion in 2001 and 2002. He currently runs the Circus Trial Tour.
Yrjö Vesterinen is a Finnish former International motorcycle trials World Champion. Vesterinen won the FIM World Trials Championship three times from 1976 through 1978. He was also eleven times Finnish National champion between 1970 and 1980, and British National champion in 1982.
John Francis "Jack" Stites, was a former American International motorcycle trials rider. He was also a motorsport commentator for the BBC in England during the 1980s.
Max Anstie is a British professional Motocross and Supercross racer. Anstie finished in the runner-up spot in the SX2 class of the 2022 FIM Supercross World Championship. He is the reigning Australian Supercross champion in the SX2 class.
