Edgardo Ruiz is a Puerto Rican ten-pin bowler. He finished in 23rd position of the combined rankings at the 2006 AMF World Cup [2] and was part of the trio (with Bruno Diaz and Julio Wiscovitch) obtaining the 9th place in the 20th Central American and Caribbean Sports Games. [3]

José Pedraza González is a Puerto Rican professional boxer and former two-weight world champion. He held the IBO super featherweight title in 2014, the IBF junior lightweight title from 2015 to 2017, and the WBO lightweight title in 2018. As an amateur he represented Puerto Rico, winning medals in multiple international competitions. Among the awards achieved by Pedraza are a bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games, silver at the 2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships and gold at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games, as well as participation in the 2008 Summer Olympics. Pedraza debuted as a professional in February 2011, winning the World Boxing Council's Super Featherweight Youth World Championship in only his sixth fight.

Carlos Arturo Tejeda Rivera is a volleyball player from Venezuela, who won the gold medal with the men's national team at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic playing as a wing-spiker. In the final his team defeated Cuba 3-0.

The 2016 Men's Central American and Caribbean Basketball Championship, also known as 2016 Centrobasket, was the regional basketball championship of FIBA Americas for the Central American and Caribbean subzone. The top five teams automatically qualified for Division A of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification and for the 2017 FIBA AmeriCup, with the top seven qualifying for the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. The tournament was held in the city of Panama City from June 19 to June 25.

Handball competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, were held from July 24 to August 5. The venue for the competition is the Sports Centre Hall 1 located at the Videna cluster. The venue also hosted judo. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams competed in each tournament. This means a total of 224 athletes are competed.
