Edilberto Restino, sociologist and political scientist, is better known as a film director [1] [2] and actor. He created the Tango puzzle method for actors. With 21 awards, Restino is one of the most awarded directors in the UK.
Restino (know in Brazil as Restini) started his career as a photographer for magazines in parallel with an actor career in theatre and as choreographer. He has worked with publicity for many years, has directed plays, and wrote 5 books, [3] "Tao, Tango and Temptation", "Blood Bank", "Reflexos", "Ser, Nao Estar "and "COH, Onirico!". He had his own advertisement agency and actor agency in Brazil for six years. As a sociologist, he was invited by the environmental organization Projeto Planeta Verde in São Paulo, and became their director of communication for 13 years. He was as well vice-president of SOS Fauna Brazil for 5 years, an organization that fights against wild traffic in the Brazilian forests. While doing those works, he was invited to run as candidate for State Deputy elections for São Paulo state and MP elections in São Paulo city. In UK he lived and worked with adults with learning disabilities for 4 years in charity organizations. He used his technique to teach dance to them.
In 2007, in UK, Restino produced, directed and did the cinematography for "Red Letter" [4] (a teaser/pilot for the feature Timeless Eye) which became the first short film from Brighton Film Studios to be chosen by the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC) to be premiered at the Pinewood Studios New Cinematographers Night in 2008 and be shortlisted to Student Academy Awards, Oscar. [5] To date, Red Letter has won 13 awards from film festivals across the UK and US including Best Director, Best Visual/Cinematography twice, Best Set Design and Best Short Film three times.
He did the cinematography of the feature "The Scandalous Four" in 2009, [6] [7] and it was awarded in 2011 at British Independent Film Festival and in California International Film Festival.
In 2009/10, Restino directed "Beijo de Morena" ( A Brunette Kiss) marking his first collaboration with Oscar-winning composer Stephen Warbeck, [8] [9] multi-award-winning cinematographer Tony Imi [10] [11] and producer Paul E. Brooker. " A Brunette Kiss" was finalized in June 2010, winning Best Director Award at Rob Knox Film Festival 2011, the Best Visual Award at Limelight Film Awards in London 2010, [12] The Grand Prix Award, The Best Set Design Award and Best Performance in a Film Award at The EOTP International Film Festival 2011/12, [13] and it is nominated in various other festivals.
With Tony Imi and Bridie he also shot Bridge Over Blue in 2010. [14] that won Best Director Award and the Best Actress award at the Rob Knox Film Festival, in London in 2015.
Restino has been teaching tango for actors for 20 years extending his way to other teachers in Brazil and the UK.

His best-known works include Pixote (1980), Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985), Ironweed (1987), At Play in the Fields of the Lord (1990) and Carandiru (2003).

The End of the Pier International Film Festival was a not-for profit independent film festival based in West Sussex, England. Brainstorm is a 2000 drama film directed by Laís Bodanzky based on the autobiographical book Canto dos Malditos by Austregésilo Carrano Bueno. Mango Yellow is a 2002 Brazilian drama film directed by Cláudio Assis. It stars Matheus Nachtergaele, Jonas Bloch, Dira Paes, Chico Díaz, and Leona Cavalli as working-class people who engage in amorous and social encounters, with most of the action taking place in a hotel and a bar. The directorial debut of Assis, the film was partially inspired by his previous short film Texas Hotel. It was filmed on a low budget in the suburbs of Pernambuco.
Lauro Escorel Filho, most known as Lauro Escorel, is an American-born Brazilian cinematographer and film director. He was born during his father, a Ministry of External Relations, stay in Washington, DC. He first worked as an assistant to Dib Lutfi and Affonso Beato, and made his debut in 1971 on Leon Hirszman's São Bernardo, which won Gramado Film Festival Best Cinematography Award. He directed the short film Libertários, winner of Margarida de Prata Award from the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil, in 1976. In 1978, he would win again the Gramado Film Festival Best Cinematography Award for his work on Héctor Babenco's Lúcio Flávio, o Passageiro da Agonia. His first feature film, Sonho sem Fim, won the Jury Special Award at the 1986 Gramado Film Festival. Ironweed (1987), another Babenco's film, would make him more known internationally.
Gustavo Nasr is a Cinematographer and Film Director from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His first film as a cinematographer and director, Aqueles Dias, starring Cynthia Falabella, exhibited at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival market, had won 11 Awards and Nominations nationally and internationally, including the "Best Cinematography Language" at the Amazonas Film Festival. He had also won the award of "Best Cinematography" at the Guarnice Festival.
