Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and one of its 32 council areas. The city was historically part of the county of Midlothian, but was administered separately from the surrounding county from 1482. It is located in Lothian on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth. Edinburgh is Scotland's second-most populous city, after Glasgow, and the seventh-most populous city in the United Kingdom.
James Alexander Stewart Stevenson is a Scottish politician who served as Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change from 2007 to 2010 and Minister for Environment and Climate Change from 2011 to 2012. A member of the Scottish National Party (SNP), he was Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Banffshire and Buchan Coast, formerly Banff and Buchan, from 2001 to 2021.

The King's Buildings is a campus of the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Located in the suburb of Blackford, the site contains most of the schools within the College of Science and Engineering, excepting only the School of Informatics and part of the School of Geosciences, which are located at the central George Square campus. The campus lies south of West Mains Road, west of Mayfield Road and east of Blackford Hill, about 2 miles (3.2 km) south of George Square. Stevenson College Edinburgh, was a further education college in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was founded in 1970, and was named after famous Scottish engineer, Robert Stevenson. In 2012 it merged with Telford College and Jewel & Esk College to form part of the newly established Edinburgh College.
Lewis Allan Stevenson is a Scottish professional footballer who plays for Scottish Premiership club Hibernian as a left-back or a midfielder. He is currently the longest serving player at Hibs, having made his debut in September 2005, and holds the club record for league appearances. Stevenson is the only Hibs player ever to have won both the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup, doing so in 2007 and 2016 respectively. He made his first full international appearance for Scotland in May 2018.

Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) is a public land based research institution focused on agriculture and life sciences. Its history stretches back to 1899 with the establishment of the West of Scotland Agricultural College and its current organisation came into being through a merger of smaller institutions.

The University Royal Naval Unit East Scotland is one of 17 University Royal Naval Units and a Royal Navy training establishment based in Scotland, accepting roughly 65 Officer Cadets from universities in Edinburgh, Fife and the Tayside region. It is one of the University Service Units and is under the command of Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth. The unit's affiliated P2000 ship is HMS Archer, which is predominantly used for training Officer Cadets.
