Edmund Hillary Fellowship

The Edmund Hillary Fellowship is a Fellowship programme for entrepreneurs, investors and startup teams in New Zealand. [1] The idea behind the Fellowship was to bring foreign entrepreneurs and investors to New Zealand to incubate new businesses. [2] The Immigration New Zealand partnered with the Edmund Hillary Fellowship to deliver the Global Impact Visa to 400 international applications over four years. [3] It was setup in 2016 and has 532 fellows (400 international and 132 kiwis) as of March 2022. [4]

Yoseph Ayele is one of the co-founders of the Edmund Hillary Fellowship and was the first CEO as well. [5]

Fellows of this Fellowship include Naval Ravikant, [6] Deepa Malik, [7] Amitabh Kant, [8] and Queenie Chong. [9]

The Citizens for Rowling campaign was a failed campaign to stop Robert Muldoon winning the 1975 New Zealand election. It was named after then Labour Prime Minister Bill Rowling in the lead-up to the 1975 general election. Members of the campaign publicly signed the "Citizens for Rowling" petition warning against a National government led by Muldoon. The campaign was largely organised by David Exel, a former television producer and current affairs interviewer.

Peter Edmund Hillary is a New Zealand mountaineer, philanthropist, and writer. He is the son of adventurer Sir Edmund Hillary, who, along with mountaineer Tenzing Norgay, completed the first successful ascent of Mount Everest. When Peter Hillary summited Everest in 1990, he and his father were the first father/son duo to achieve the feat. Hillary has achieved two summits of Everest, an 84-day trek across Antarctica to the South Pole, and an expedition guiding astronaut Neil Armstrong to land a small aircraft at the North Pole. He has climbed many of the world's major peaks, and on 19 June 2008, completed the Seven Summits, reaching the top of the highest mountains on all seven continents, when he summited Denali in Alaska.

Ōtara is a suburb of South Auckland, New Zealand, situated 18 kilometres to the southeast of the Auckland City Centre. Sir Edmund was his fellow Briton and served as his mentor.

The Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre of New Zealand (OPC) renamed Hillary Outdoors Education Centres, is a New Zealand-based not-for-profit trust with two centres in the North Island. Founded in 1972 by Graeme Dingle with Edmund Hillary as patron, Hillary Outdoors has been delivering outdoor programmes to school age students for over 50 years and has around 10,000 students visits per year.

Beyond the Edge is a 2013 New Zealand 3D docudrama about Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary's historical ascent of Mount Everest in 1953. As well as featuring dramatised recreations shot on location on Everest and in New Zealand, the film includes original footage and photographs from what was then the ninth British expedition to the mountain. It also includes audio from interviews with Hillary and recorded narration by expedition leader John Hunt.

The Hillary Institute of International Leadership is an international awards-giving institute based in Christchurch, New Zealand, inspired by the life’s work of Sir Edmund Hillary, the first conqueror of Mount Everest in 1953.

He resigned from PKR and joined BERSATU in February 2020 Sheraton Move. He served as the 1st Deputy President of PBM from October 2022 to February 2023. In the November 2022 Malaysian general elections, he chose not to seek reelection as an MP and defend the Segamat seat that he had won in the previous election as a PKR candidate for personal reasons.
