Pingalwara is a Sikh charitable organization based in Punjab.
Bhagat Puran Singh was an Indian writer, environmentalist, and philanthropist. As a young man he decided to dedicate his life to humanitarian work, and in 1947, he established Pingalwara, a home for the sick and disabled in Amritsar. He was also an environmental campaigner, raising awareness of pollution and soil erosion and writing many books about environmental topics.
The Janamsakhis, are popular hagiographies of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. Considered by scholars as semi-legendary biographies, they were based on a Sikh oral tradition of historical fact, homily, and legend, with the first janamsakhi were composed between 50 and 80 years after his death. Many more were written in the 17th and 18th century. The largest Guru Nanak Prakash, with about 9,700 verses, was written in the early 19th century by Kavi Santokh Singh.
Halla Bol is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language drama film written and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Halla Bol stars Pankaj Kapur, Ajay Devgn and Vidya Balan in pivotal roles and a number of celebrities from the Hindi and other film industries appear as themselves. Produced by Samee Siddiqui, the film's score and soundtrack was composed by Sukhwinder Singh, while Natty Subramaniam and Steven Bernard were the cinematographer and editor respectively. It was released on 11 January 2008. The film was remade with an adapted story in Bengali in 2010 named Pratidwandi.

The Punjabi language is written in several scripts, of which the Shahmukhi and Gurmukhī scripts are the most commonly used in Western Punjab and Eastern Punjab, respectively.
Puran Bhagat is a mythical prince of Sialkot from Punjabi folklore. According to the story, he was son of King Salban of Sialkot and an elder brother of prince Rasalu.

The film stars Aryeman Ramsay and Sayali Bhagat in the lead roles with Lucky Ali and Ranvir Shorey in supporting roles. It is inspired by the Hollywood film, Just My Luck. The film was released on 8 August 2008.

Gelo is an Indian Punjabi-language drama film based on the Punjabi novel Gelo written by doyen of Punjabi literature, Late Ram Sarup Ankhi. The film is directed by Manbhavan Singh. Produced by Celebration Studioz and Sonark Solutions, it features Jaspinder Cheema and Gurjit Singh in the lead roles. The music is composed by Umar Sheikh. The film was released worldwide on 5 August 2016.

The 8th Jagran Film Festival was held from July 1 to September 24, 2017. The first edition of Jagran Film Festival was held in the year 2010.
Maharaja Ranjit Singh is an Indian historical drama television series created by Raj Babbar. It was directed by Chitraarth and Sikander Bharti and produced by Nadira Babbar and Kukoo Babbar of Babbar Films Private Limited. The drama aired on DD National from 13 April 2010 to 3 May 2011. The series is based on the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and covers the part of history of Punjab from 1739 to 1812. The show comprised 56 episodes. The music was composed by Jagjit Singh. Filming was done between 2004–2010.
