Ehizojie Benjamin Okoeguale (born 5 June 1987), popularly known as Ehiz [1] sometimes referred to as Dadaboy Ehiz is a Nigerian video jockey, [2] television presenter, [3] entrepreneur and executive producer. [4] His journey into limelight came after he contested and won the MTV Base Africa VJ Search in 2013. Ehiz is renowned as a presenter on MTV Base Africa, [5] a Viacom International Media Networks Africa with local programming, advertising and VJs. [6]

Early life and education

Ehiz was born and grew up in Ikeja, Lagos State with his family. [7] Ehiz, the youngest child in a family of 5, was raised in Ikeja, Lagos State, He attended Alpha Nursery and primary school and Providence heights, Lagos for his secondary education and then proceed to Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Electronics Engineering. [8] He participated actively in the entertainment industry and hosted events such as social nights, picnics, the end-of-the-year party, school dance competitions, and other occasions. [9]

Career

Dada Boy Ehiz came into spotlight after he won the MTV Base Africa VJ Search in 2013. [10] He was announced the winner at the grand finale's live recording, which took place at Club One-Eleven on Victoria Island, Lagos. The event featured judges On-Air Personality Toolz, star actress Funke Akindele, MTV's Tim Horwood, and Nigerian R&B artist Banky W. [11] Ehiz has made over 100 red carpet appearances and stage appearances around the continent, [12] and collaborations & partnerships with major organizations like MTV Base Africa, Global Citizen Awards, Heineken, Coca-Cola, Uber, Smirnoff. In 2021, Ehiz kickstarted The Dadaboy Show, a monthly podcast show where he holds unfiltered conversations with creatives across the African continent. The podcast is geared at serving as a custodian of entertainment history, enlightening the mass and celebrating African creatives on a global scale. [14] [15]

In May 2022, Apple Music unveils Dadaboy Ehiz as the new host of Africa Now Radio. [16] He takes over from his fellow countrywoman DJ Cuppy as the new host of the show. [17]

Ehiz won the VJ of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards and Most Promising Young Presenter at the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards. [20]

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter.
