Eileen Buggy is an Irish hairstylist who has worked in the film industry since 1993. [2] In addition to being nominated for several other Irish Film & Television Academy Awards (IFTAs), she received awards in the Makeup & Hair category for Ripper Street at the 10th IFTAs and for The Green Knight at the 18th IFTAs. Career

Buggy has worked with actors such as Anne Hathaway and Martin Sheen; Sheen "personally thanked her for giving him a perm" in Thaddeus O'Sullivan's 2011 film Stella Days . [1]

In 2009, Buggy received a nomination for an Irish Film & Television Award, in the Make-up & Hair category, on George Gently . [5] She also received a nomination for the same award in 2010 for Zonad , [6] and a nomination in 2012 for Stella Days. [7] In 2012, she received an Oscar nomination for the 2011 period drama film Albert Nobbs . [8] At the 2013 British Academy Television Craft Awards, she received a nomination in the Best Make-Up & Hair Design category for her work on Ripper Street . [9] In 2020, at the 16th Irish Film & Television Awards, Buggy received a nomination for her work on Vita & Virginia . [10] In 2022, she won the Makeup & Hair category at the 18th IFTA awards for The Green Knight . [11] [12] [13]

Personal life

Eileen Buggy is the sister of actor Niall Buggy. [1] As of 2013 she was living in Drumcondra, Dublin. [1] She is married with four children. [1]

<i>The Quiet Girl</i> 2022 Irish coming-of-age film

The Quiet Girl is a 2022 Irish coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Colm Bairéad, in his feature film debut. Based on the 2010 short story "Foster" by Claire Keegan, it stars Catherine Clinch, Carrie Crowley and Andrew Bennett.

For the first and second Irish Film and Television Awards ceremonies, supporting performances for film and television were combined into one category. Up until the 2018–2019 film season, awards were given for films released in Ireland the previous year.

The Irish Film and Television Award for Best Supporting Actor was an award bestowed by the Irish Film & Television Academy celebrating outstanding performances by actors in supporting roles in films and television dramas. It was a joint category until 2005, where actors were nominated from films and television dramas for the same award. The 3rd Irish Film & Television Awards introduced the current separate categories: Irish Film & Television Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Film and Irish Film and Television Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Television.
