Ek Baap Chhe Bete is a 1978 Bollywood film directed by Mehmood. The film stars Yogeeta Bali.

Released in India on 3 March 1972, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aruna Irani, Shatrughan Sinha, Nazir Hussain, Mehmood and Anwar Ali in lead roles. The film is known particularly for its catchy tunes and was a "superhit" at the box office. The film is a remake of a 1966 hit Tamil film Madras to Pondicherry and was an inspiration for the 2004 Marathi movie Navra Maza Navsacha which in turn was remade in Kannada in 2007 as Ekadantha. The Hindu had reported that Rajiv Gandhi was offered the lead role by Mehmood but he had turned it down.
Vinod Mehra was an Indian actor in Hindi films. He started out as a child actor in the mid 1950s before starting his film career as an adult in 1971. He acted in over 100 films from the 1970s through to his death at the age of 45 in 1990. He was also the producer and director of the film Gurudev which was released 3 years after his death.

The hijra song "Saj Rahi Gali" sung by Mohammed Rafi topped the annual Binaca Geet Mala, which was the only countdown show at the time. This film was Tamil actress Manorama's only film in Hindi, however, her lines consisted of some Tamil.

Ramanathan.The film stars Mehmood, Vinod Mehra, Moushumi Chatterjee, Farida Jalal, Asit Sen, Agha, Keshto Mukherjee and Jeevan. The title song Sabse Bada Rupaiya is inspired by the music to the title song of the Hollywood musical 42nd Street (1933). The song was used again in an Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Bluffmaster (2005) in the opening credits. The core plot of the movie is based on the 1971 Kannada movie Kasidre Kailasa.

This movie has songs sung by a newcomer Anwar as Kishore Kumar refused to sing for the movie as it had his ex-wife Yogita Bali in the lead.
