Eldas is a constituency in Kenya. It is one of the constituencies in Wajir County.

History

The constituency was formed during the 2013 Kenya general election. The current member of parliament has served as the member of parliament since 2013 and has faced serious contention from Hon. Ahmed Boray who has petitioned the election result twice in 2017 and 2022 elections. During the 2022 Kenyan general election, the constituency returning officer was hospitalised after being shot in the leg. [1]

David Kimutai Too was a Kenyan politician affiliated to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He was a high school teacher and then a principal from Kericho in Rift Valley, Kenya before being elected to the National Assembly from Ainamoi Constituency from a field of 13 candidates in the December 2007 parliamentary election. Charles Keter, a fellow Member of Parliament, described Too as "a very humble, quiet man." The "List of alleged perpetrators" of the 2007/2008 post-electoral violence of the Kenya National Human Rights Commission however lists him among the suspects on place 3 and charges him with "planning, incitement, and financing the violence".

Joshua Serem Kutuny is a Kenyan politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Kenya for Cherangany Constituency. He belonged to the Orange Democratic Movement from 2007 before he defected to the United Republican Party prior to the 2013 general election, and finally to the Jubilee Party from 2017.

Joseph Lemasolai Lekuton is a Kenyan politician. He belongs to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and was elected to represent the Laisamis Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election and reelected in 2013. He was not elected in 2017, but returned in 2022. He joined Kenya Kwanza after being elected in the 2022 general election.

Aden Keynan Wehliye is a Member of the National Assembly of Kenya. He served Wajir West constituency from 1997 to 2002 and 2007 to 2013. He then moved to Eldas constituency which was carved from Wajir West. Keynan served as the MP of Eldas in the 11th and 12th parliaments. He represented the Orange Democratic Movement until 2017 when he switched to the Jubilee Party. Keynan was re-elected on the Jubilee ticket in the 2022 elections. He is the longest-serving MP of the 13th Parliament of Kenya.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is an independent regulatory agency that was founded in the year 2011 through the making of the Constitution of Kenya. The Commission is responsible for conducting or supervising referendums and elections to any elective body or office established by the Constitution, and any other elections as prescribed by an Act of Parliament. It was created in a provision of the 2010 constitution and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Act. Emurua Dikirr is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of six constituencies of Narok County. The constituency was established for the 2013 elections. Since the 2013 Kenyan General Elections, Johana Kipyegon Ngeno represented the constituency in the Kenyan National Assembly. Omar Mwinyi Shimbwa is a Kenyan politician and member of the Kenyan Parliament. He was elected as a member (MP) of the National Assembly of Kenya in 2013. He has been re-elected twice during the 2017 and 2022 Kenyan general election.
