Elder Island (band)

Elder Island is a British musical group from Bristol.

The group was founded under the name Trouvaille, and was initially conceived as an experimental folk exploration whilst studying various art degrees in Bristol & South Wales. [1] Their house-inflected 2014 debut received airplay on BBC Radio 6. [1] The group continued working in jobs outside of the band alongside recording and producing side work included interior decoration, club management, graphic design, and art department work at Aardman Animations. [2]

Elder Island's first full-length, The Omnitone Collection, was released in 2019. [3] [4] The group toured North America in 2019 in support of the album. [5] [6]

In November 2020, the group announced a new release, Feral. [7] [8]

Millicent Ellen Lovelock is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from New Zealand who performs as Repulsive Woman. She was a member of Dunedin bands, Astro Children and Trick Mammoth (2013–2015). As Repulsive Woman she released her debut album, Relief, in June 2019. Late that year Lovelock relocated to Manchester. Relief won the Taite Music Prize for Best Independent Debut in May 2020.
