Eleanor Joanne Daley OC [1] (born April 21, 1955) is a Canadian composer [2] of choral and church music, [3] a church choir director, choral clinician and accompanist. She lives and works in Toronto, Ontario. [4] Among her best-known works are The Rose Trilogy and Requiem. [5]
Daley was born in Parry Sound, Ontario. She earned a bachelor's degree in organ performance from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, and attained diplomas in piano and organ, having studied in both Canada and England.
As a composer, Daley has been commissioned by choral groups and arts organizations throughout North America and Europe. [6] In Canada, she composed for the Elmer Iseler Singers, the Amadeus Choir, the Bach Children's Chorus, the Maryland State Boychoir, the Amabile Youth Singers, Toronto Children's Chorus, the Cantabile Singers of Kingston, the Savridi Singers, the Vancouver Men's Chorus and the Victoria Scholars.
Daley worked under commission to a number of groups in the United States, including the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, Texas Woman's University, the Texas Choral Directors Association, and received the 2008 Brock Commission from the American Choral Directors Association. [7] Commissions from Europe include festivals in Norway and Germany, and England's Oxford University Press. Daley's music has been published by Canadian, US, and UK-based printing houses.
Daley's a capella work "I Sing a Maiden" was performed in New York in 2014 by a 400-voice choir as part of an International Women's Day celebration. [8]
Daley continues to work as a composer. Her work "My Master from a Garden Rose" has been recorded by the Genesis Ensemble. [9] 2018 she serves as the music and choir director at Fairlawn Avenue United Church and as accompanist for the Bach Children's Chorus.
She was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2022, "for her contributions to Canadian music and choral culture as a renowned composer and accompanist." [10]
Sir David Valentine Willcocks, was a British choral conductor, organist, composer and music administrator. He was particularly well known for his association with the Choir of King's College, Cambridge, which he directed from 1957 to 1974, making frequent broadcasts and recordings. Several of the descants and carol arrangements he wrote for the annual service of Nine Lessons and Carols were published in the series of books Carols for Choirs which he edited along with Reginald Jacques and John Rutter. He was also director of the Royal College of Music in London.

Saint Peter's Singers (SPS) is a chamber choir associated with Leeds Minster, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England that celebrated during the Season 2017/2018 the fortieth anniversary of the choir's formation by Harry Fearnley in 1977. An anniversary concert took place at Leeds Minster on Sunday 25 June 2017 with the National Festival Orchestra and soloists Kristina James, Joanna Gamble, Paul Dutton and Quentin Brown. Further anniversary year events included Bach Cantatas and Music for Christmas at Fulneck Church in August and December respectively, Handel Coronation Anthems at Holy Trinity, Boar Lane as part of the Leeds Handel Festival in September and a tour of East Anglia in October. In November at Leeds Town Hall, the Singers participated in Herbert Howells's masterpiece Hymnus Paradisi with Leeds Philharmonic Chorus and Leeds College of Music Chorale under the direction of Dr David Hill with the Orchestra of Opera North. 2018 began with a concert of Sacred Choral Masterworks at Leeds Town Hall in February and Bach's Mass in B minor at Leeds Minster on Good Friday 2018 in memory of long-serving member Jan Holdstock. The final concert of the current season takes place at Leeds Minster on Sunday 24 June at Leeds Minster at 5.30. At this event will be presented the first performance of a new work from composer Philip Moore commissioned for the Singers' 40th anniversary – the motet Tu es Petrus – along with music by E W Naylor, Arvo Part, Sir Hubert Parry, Judith Bingham and Maurice Durufle.

The Bach-Elgar Choir is a community chorus of long standing in Hamilton, Ontario, currently directed by Alexander Cann. The Choir is composed of accomplished amateur singers from Hamilton and the neighbouring cities of Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga and Simcoe. Notable performances by the ensemble include the North American première of Verdi's Requiem and the Canadian premieres of Górecki's Miserere and Mahler's Symphony No. 2. The choir has performed at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, The Sanderson Centre in Brantford, and at the Brott Music Festival in Hamilton. The choir makes frequent guest appearances with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Choristers was a Canadian chamber choir based in Winnipeg that gave weekly nationally broadcast programs on CBC Radio from 1942 through 1969. According to The Canadian Encyclopedia, the choir achieved "a national reputation for their fine choral blend and sense of style". The group was sometimes referred to as the "Sunday Chorale", after the name of the weekly CBC Radio program on which the choir was featured from 1952 to 1969. Henderson also accompanied the Toronto Children's Chorus under Jean Ashworth Bartle from its inception in 1978 to 2007 and was music director for Kingsway-Lambton United Church in Toronto from 1996 to 2013.

Julian James Wachner is an American composer, conductor, and keyboardist. From 2011 to 2022, he served as the Director of Music and the Arts at Trinity Wall Street, conducting the Choir of Trinity Wall Street, the Trinity Baroque Orchestra, and NOVUS NY. Wachner recorded five albums with these ensembles, primarily for the Musica Omnia label. From 2008 to 2017, he served as the Director of The Washington Chorus.
