Elia Kaulifewangali Irimari is a Namibian politician. A member of SWAPO, he has been governor of the Oshana region since 2019. [1] Until his appointment as governor, Irimari was the regional councilor for Ondangwa Urban Constituency. Irimari became a councillor in 2015 and has been serving in the management committee of the Oshana Regional Council since his appointment. [2]
Irimali previously worked as school history teacher. During this time he was an active member of the Namibia National Students Organization. As governor, Irimari is primarily committed to youth work. He is also an advocate for communities to harvest water so that it can be used during dry seasons, both by human and livestock. [3]
Politics of Namibia takes place in a framework of a semi-presidential representative democratic republic, whereby the President of Namibia is both head of state and head of government, and of a pluriform multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by both the president and the government. Legislative power is vested in the two chambers of Parliament. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.

The towns of Oshakati, Ongwediva and Ondangwa, all situated with this region, form an urban cluster with the second largest population concentration in Namibia after the capital Windhoek. Carl-Hermann Gustav "Calle" Schlettwein is a Namibian politician who has served in the country's cabinet since 2012. In March 2020, he was appointed the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform after serving as the Minister of Finance from 2015 to 2020 and previously as the Minister of Trade and Industry from 2012 to 2015.
Clemens Handuukeme Kashuupulwa is a Namibian politician. He is the governor of Oshana Region since 1998. He was re-appointed in 2010 by president Hifikepunye Pohamba and again reappointed by president Hage Geingob in April 2015 following the 2014 election. Since 1997 Kashuupulwa is a member of the Central Committee of SWAPO.
