Elijah Sumbeiywo was a Kenyan politician who served as a Member of Parliament for Keiyo North from 1997 to 2002. [1]

Before joining politics he served under Moi regime as the Presidential Escort Commander. [2]

He also served an Assistant Minister in the Office of the President and Ministry of Planning & National Development and later became Assistant Minister for Agriculture & Rural Development.

Sumbeiywo was enrolled to the Kalenjin Council of Elders in 2009.

He died in 2012 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. [3]

Elijah Masinde was a Bukusu activist. He died in 1987.

William Ruto Kenyan politician

William Kipchirchir Samoei Arap Ruto is a Kenyan politician. Currently, he is the Deputy President of Kenya, a position he has held since 2013. He served as the Acting President of Kenya between 6 and 8 October 2014 when President Uhuru Kenyatta was at the International Criminal Court (ICC), in the Hague, Netherlands. He previously served in various ministerial positions, including the Ministries of Home Affairs, Agriculture, and Higher Education Science and Technology. He was the Secretary General of the Kenya Africa National Union (KANU), the former ruling political party, and the MP for Eldoret North Constituency between December 1997 and January 2013. He won the seat in the 1997 elections after defeating Reuben Chesire. He was appointed to the position of Assistant Minister in the Office of the President by President Daniel arap Moi in 1998. He was promoted to be Minister for Home Affairs in August 2002. Ruto has also previously served as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Constitutional Reform in the 9th Parliament.

Deputy President of Kenya principal assistant of the President of Kenya

The deputy president of Kenya is the second-highest executive official in the Kenyan government. The Deputy President i s the principal assistant of the President and deputises for the President in executive functions. Prior to the 2010 Constitution of Kenya, the Deputy President was known as the Vice President. While the Vice President was appointed by the President, the Deputy President is elected as part of a joint ticket with the President of Kenya he or she serves. In addition, unlike the previous situation where the Vice President would usually have a Cabinet Ministry to hold, the Deputy President is not permitted to hold any other state or public office.

John Njoroge Michuki was a Kenyan politician and businessman. He was born at Muguru, village, Iyego Location, Kangema Division in Murang’a District. He was educated in Kenya and abroad. Michuki emerged as one of the prominent and long-serving civil servants and politicians as well as a businessman in Kenya. Michuki served Kenya in various capacities, including Permanent Secretary in the Finance Ministry, Chairman of the Kenya Commercial Bank, Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister. He was serving his 4th five-year term as a Member of Parliament for Kangema Constituency. Michuki had a reputation as a "ruthless" and efficient manager, and was widely acknowledged as among the best performing ministers in President Kibaki's Government. He was serving as the Minister for Environment and National Resources at the time of his death.

Ekwee Ethuro Kenyan politician

Ekwee David Ethuro is a Kenyan politician. He was elected as the first Speaker of the modern Kenyan Senate on 28 March 2013. From 1998 to 2013 he served as a Member of Parliament representing Turkana Central. He also served as the Assistant Minister for Planning and National Development from 1998 to 2002 under the government of President Daniel arap Moi. He was re-elected as Member of Parliament for Turkana Central in the 2007 general elections and steered the proceedings of the 10th Parliament in the position of acting Speaker of the House whenever the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker were absent.

(Dr.) Hon. James Njiru. EBS, EGH was a Kenyan politician. From Kirinyaga county, Central province in the Republic of Kenya. He served in president Jomo Kenyatta's government as an assistant minister of Health, in president Moi's Government as a cabinet Minister in the docket of National Guidance and Political Affairs as well as the Ministry of Culture and Social Services. He was as a Member of Parliament for Kirinyaga for many years.

Eric Edward Khasakhala Kenyan politician

Eric Edward Khasakhala, known as "Omwana wa Kwendo" was a Kenyan politician, educationist, Pan Africanist, independence activist, Cabinet Minister and one of the founding fathers of the Republic of Kenya.
