The Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting Co. (also known as Elyria-Lorain or ELB) is a privately held holding company of various assets in the broadcast media, based in Elyria, Ohio. Its parent company is the Lorain County Printing and Publishing Company, which owns the Chronicle-Telegram of Elyria and Medina County Gazette.
The company was founded in 1948 with the establishment of WEOL AM-FM in Elyria, Ohio, the AM station of which continues to serve as the company's flagship. On May 15, 1958, Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting Co. was purchased by the Lorain County Printing and Publishing Company, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. As LCP&P owned the Chronicle-Telegram (and bought the Gazette in 1962) in effect formed a radio/newspaper duopoly. This arrangement has lasted to this day, grandfathered by FCC legislation that now prohibit such arrangements.
Throughout the 1990s, Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting also owned a station in the Mansfield market, WYXZ-FM in Crestline. In 2003, WYXZ was sold off to EMF Broadcasting, which now operates the station as WYKL with their "K-Love" religious format.
The company also owned WMEL (AM 920, now WDMC) Melbourne (1956 to 1993); WROD-AM 1340 Daytona Beach (1965 to 1982) and WELE-FM 105.9 (now WOCL) DeLand - Daytona Beach - Orlando (1982 to 1986), all in Florida. WEOL-FM in Elyria became WBEA in 1965, then WCZR and WNWV in 1987, and was sold off to the Akron, Ohio-based Rubber City Radio Group, Inc. in December 2011.
WCLV is a non-commercial educational classical radio station licensed to Lorain, Ohio. Owned by Ideastream, the station serves Greater Cleveland and parts of surrounding Northeast Ohio. The WCLV studios are located at Playhouse Square in Downtown Cleveland, while the station transmitter resides in the Cleveland suburb of Avon. Besides a standard analog transmission, WCLV broadcasts over a single HD Radio channel, and streams online.

WDLW – branded Kool Kat Oldies 1380 AM & 98.9 FM – is a commercial oldies radio station licensed to Lorain, Ohio. Owned by WDLW Radio, Inc., the station serves Lorain County and western parts of Greater Cleveland. WDLW also simulcasts over Lorain translator W255CW (98.9 FM). The WDLW studios are located in the city of Oberlin, while the transmitters for both WDLW and W255CW reside in Sheffield Township. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WDLW is available online.
WNWV – branded as 107.3 Alternative Cleveland – is a commercial alternative rock radio station licensed to Elyria, Ohio. Owned by Rubber City Radio Group, Inc., the station serves Greater Cleveland and much of surrounding Northeast Ohio. The WNWV studios are located in Akron alongside sister stations WAKR, WONE-FM and WQMX, while the station transmitter resides off of South Island Road in Grafton. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WNWV broadcasts over a single HD Radio channel, and is available online.

Lorain Journal Co. v. United States, 342 U.S. 143 (1951), is a decision of the United States Supreme Court often cited as an example of a monopolization violation being based on unilateral denial of access to an essential facility, although it in fact involved concerted action. When the Lorain Journal's monopoly over advertising in the Lorain, Ohio area was threatened by the establishment of a competing radio station, the Journal's publisher refused to accept advertising from those who advertised over the radio station and required them to advertise only in the Journal. The purpose of the publisher was to eliminate the competition of the radio station. The Supreme Court held that the publisher had attempted to monopolize trade and commerce, in violation of § 2 of the Sherman Antitrust Act, and was properly enjoined from continuing the conduct.
Raymond Charles Vietzen was an American automobile dealer, artifact collector, and amateur archaeologist. As prolific author and artist from Elyria, Ohio, he wrote and illustrated numerous articles, books, and chapters in edited volumes on the history and prehistory of North America winning him many honors—chief among them the title of "Colonel." Col. Vietzen is probably best known for establishing the Indian Ridge Museum in 1930 and for founding the Archaeological Society of Ohio, whereby he presided as its editor, president, secretary, and treasurer from 1941 to 1980. Most of his publications are dedicated to the excavations that he led at many famous archaeological sites in Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. His artifact collection was sold by Old Barn Auction between 1998 and 1999 grossing $1,777,652.
WWIZ was a commercial radio station that was licensed to Lorain, Ohio at 1380 AM, and broadcast from 1958 to 1967.
