Emanuel Gyenes (born March 3, 1984 in Satu Mare, Romania) [1] is a Romanian rally racing motorcycle rider of Hungarian ethnicity. [2] He won the Malle Moto class in the 2020 Dakar Rally for bike competitors competing without any kind of assistance. [1]

The Dakar Rally is an annual rally raid organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation. Most events since the inception in 1978 were staged from Paris, France, to Dakar, Senegal, but due to security threats in Mauritania, which led to the cancellation of the 2008 rally, events from 2009 to 2019 were held in South America. Since 2020, the rally has been held in Saudi Arabia. The event is open to amateur and professional entries, professionals typically making up about eighty percent of the participants.

The 2008 Dakar Rally would have been the 30th running of the annual off-road race. The rally was to start in Lisbon, Portugal on 5 January 2008, running through Europe and Africa until the finish in Dakar, Senegal on 20 January. The event was cancelled one day before the intended start date, due to concerns over a possible terrorist attack aimed at the competitors.
The 2009 Dakar Rally was the 31st running of the Dakar Rally. In addition to motorcycle, automobile, and truck categories, a separate quad class was added for the first time. The race began on 3 January 2009, and took place across Argentina and Chile. The rally was for the first time to take place outside of Europe and Africa as the location was changed by organizers due to concerns about possible terrorist attacks that resulted in the moving of the 2008 edition from the traditional route to Senegal to Hungary and Romania in the spring.

A member of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), he was the mayor of Satu Mare for two terms, from 2004 until 2012. Between 1996 and 2004 he was the deputy mayor of the city. He is married to Ildikó and has two children.

He also won the Red Bull Romaniacs, one of the toughest hard enduro events on the planet, three times, in 2004, 2005 and 2007 and the Erzberg Rodeo in 2002 and 2003. In the 2018 season he is one of the official drivers of the Team Peugeot Total.

It is organized by the County Football Association and is competed amongst 38 teams divided into 3 series, the winner is promoted to Liga III after a promotion play-off.
The 2019–20 Liga IV Satu Mare was the 52nd season of Liga IV Satu Mare, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 23 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania.
Clubul Sportiv Municipal Victoria Carei, commonly known as Victoria Carei, is a Romanian football club based in Carei, Satu Mare County and currently playing in the Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system, following their promotion from the Liga IV – Satu Mare County in the 2021–22 season. Founded in 1923 Victoria Carei played sixteen seasons in Liga II and thirty-six seasons in Liga III. Their highest league finish is third, in the 1935–36 season of Divizia B.
