The regions of Ghana constitute the first level of subnational government administration within the Republic of Ghana. There are currently sixteen regions, further divided for administrative purposes into 216 local districts.
The Upper East Region is located in north Ghana and is the second smallest of 10 administrative regions in Ghana, occupying a total land surface of 8,842 square kilometers or 2.7 per cent of the total land area of Ghana. The Upper East regional capital is Bolgatanga, sometimes referred to as Bolga. Other major towns in the region include Navrongo, Paga, Bawku and Zebilla.
The Northern Region is one of the sixteen regions of Ghana. It is located in the north of the country and was the largest of the sixteen regions, covering an area of 70,384 square kilometres or 31 percent of Ghana's area until December 2018 when the Savannah and North East Regions were created from it. The Northern Region is divided into 14 districts. The region's capital is Tamale.
Volta Region, is one of Ghana's ten administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the region is multi-ethnic and multilingual, including groups such as the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan peoples. The Guan peoples include the Lolobi, Likpe, Akpafu, Buem, and Nkonya people, et al.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs is the Ghana government official who is responsible for overseeing the country's foreign policy and international diplomacy. The minister is usually one of the most senior members of Cabinet.
Muhammad Mumuni is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician. He was reelected to Ghana's Parliament in the 7 December 2012 General Elections, when he won the Kumbungu Seat. Mumuni left parliament in 2004 when he became John Atta Mills' vice-Presidential running mate.
Elizabeth Agyeman is the Deputy Regional Minister for Ashanti Region. She was appointed by the current President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and confirmed by the Parliament of Ghana.
The Ghana Police Service (GPS) is the main law enforcement agency of Ghana. The service is under the control of the Ghanaian Ministry of the Interior, and employs over 30,000 officers across its 651 stations.
University of Sustainable, Environmental Studies and Applied Research is a proposed public tertiary educational institution to be built in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Helen Adjoa Ntoso is a Ghanaian politician and a member of the Parliament of Ghana for the Krachi West constituency in the Volta Region of Ghana. She is a member of the National Democratic Congress. Hon Ntoso is currently the Regional Minister for the Volta Region.
Ephraim Avea Nsoh is a Ghanaian politician and was the Upper East Regional Minister of Ghana. Prior to heading the Upper East Region, Ephraim Avea Nsoh was Upper West Regional Minister.
Joshua Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo is a Ghanaian politician and the Greater Accra Regional Minister of Ghana. Prior to heading the Greater Accra Region, he was the Volta Regional Minister.
