Emmanuel Ugirashebuja

Emmanuel Ugirashebuja is the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Republic of Rwanda. [1] He is a former President of the East African Court of Justice. He is a Dean Emeritus of the National University of Rwanda, Faculty of Law and has given lectures on diverse subjects of law to various well-renowned Universities worldwide. He was educated and has practiced in the major legal systems, namely, common law and civil law systems.

In addition, he has been bestowed confidence by his peers by being elected to different judicial and legal bodies, notably; the Global Judicial Institute on the Environment, supported by the UNEP and IUCN; He is also a member of the Governing Board of the International Association of Law Schools.

He was Awarded a Lifetime Appointment as a Distinguished Fellow & Eminent Jurist at Jindal Global Law School, OP, Jindal Global University India as “exemplar jurist and contribution of law and Justice which have transcended geographical boundaries and jurisdictional limitation”; the 2019 Bright International- Jurist- in Residence University of Hawai’i School of Law.

Dr. Ugirashebuja holds a PhD and LLM awarded by the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor’s Degree awarded by the National University of Rwanda (Currently, University of Rwanda).

Robert F. Utter American judge (1930-2014)

Robert French Utter was an American attorney and jurist from Washington. He served as a King County Superior Court judge from 1964 until his appointment to the Washington Court of Appeals in 1968. In 1971 he was appointed to the Washington Supreme Court, where he served for 23 years, including two years as the chief justice. Utter is known for his opposition to the death penalty. He dissented in two dozen cases on capital punishment while on the court and resigned in 1995 in protest of it. After resigning from the court, Utter taught the first state constitutional law course in Washington State at the University of Puget Sound School of Law and traveled around the world to help developing nations create independent judiciaries. He died in 2014.

Abubacarr Tambadou Gambian lawyer and politician

Abubacarr Marie "Ba" Tambadou is a Gambian lawyer and politician who is currently the Registrar of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, an international court founded by the United Nations Security Council. From 2017 to 2020, Tambadou served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General in Gambian President Adama Barrow's cabinet.

The International Council of Jurists (ICJ) is a company based in London, England that organizes seminars and conferences in London and India, and gives out awards. It charges fees for membership, conference sponsorship and advertising. In April 2020 its president, Adish Aggarwala, launched a conspiracy theory in which he claimed the Chinese had deliberately launched the COVID-19 pandemic to further its ambitions to become a superpower. The Indian government disowned any connection with the ICJ and its views, but the story created a sensation in the Indian press.
