The England Boxing National Amateur Championships Super-Heavyweight Championship formerly known as the ABA Championships is the primary English amateur boxing championship. [1] It had previously been contested by all the nations of the United Kingdom.
The super-heavyweight division was inaugurated in 1982 and is currently the weight category of over 92 Kg. The championships are highly regarded in the boxing world and seen as the most prestigious national amateur championships. [2] [3]

The World Boxing Association (WBA), formerly known as the National Boxing Association (NBA), is the oldest and one of four major organizations which sanction professional boxing bouts, alongside the World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO). The WBA awards its world championship title at the professional level. Founded in the United States in 1921 by 13 state representatives as the NBA, in 1962 it changed its name in recognition of boxing's growing popularity worldwide and began to gain other nations as members.
England Boxing, known until 2013 as the Amateur Boxing Association of England, is the only governing body of amateur boxing clubs in England. There are separate organisations for Scotland and Wales with boxing in Northern Ireland being organised on an All-Ireland basis. The Association was founded in 1880.
