Enkay Ogboruche, stage name Enkay, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter. She started singing at the age of 10, as a member of the Assemblies of God choir. She has two albums and many hit singles.

Personal life

Enkay Ogboruche was born into a family of seven. Her birth name is Nkiruka Gift Onuabuobi and was born in Kaduna State in northern Nigeria. She has four siblings: two brothers and two sisters, and she is the first born child. She began singing at the age of 10. Her first recording experience was with a bottle and a spoon in a recording with her father. In her teenage years, she became a born-again Christian. Enkay is married to Dr. Timothy Ogboruche and they have three boys. [1]

Enkay is a vocalist with a high pitched soprano that transcends 3 octaves. She is a member of the Tehila Crew, a gospel singing group. [2] She took off in 2015 as a solo artist with a debut album Kingdom anthem. The Kingdom anthem was a 10-track album that was distributed by Honesty Music, with popular track like "Yes, You Are The Lord". [3] [4]

Her second album, The Bridge, was released in 2018 [5] at the Enkay Live in Concert [6] which held at The Eko Convention Center with the like of Kierra Sheard, [7] Chioma Jesus, Frank Edwards, Sammy Okposo, [2] and a host of many other gospel music artists. The Bridge contains her hit track "Salute". [8] She has collaborated with other gospel music artists in Nigeria and internationally. [9]

Karen Valencia Clark Sheard is an American Grammy Award-winning Gospel singer, musician, songwriter, and business woman. Clark-Sheard is the wife of the current Church of God in Christ Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard and she serves as the current First Lady of the COGIC denomination. Clark–Sheard is best known as the youngest member of influential gospel group the Clark Sisters. Clark–Sheard is also the mother of contemporary gospel singer and actress Kierra "Kiki" Sheard. She has released five solo albums, seventeen with the Clark Sisters and collaborated with her son J.Drew Sheard II and her daughter Kierra Sheard.

Elbernita "Twinkie" Clark is an American gospel singer, songwriter, composer, record producer, musician, and evangelist. Clark is best known as a member of the American gospel singing group the Clark Sisters. Clark is known as the "Mother of Contemporary Gospel Music". In addition to singing, Clark is a heralded musician. Known as the "Queen of the B3 Hammond Organ", she is a member of the Hammond organ Hall of Fame Class of 2014. In 2012, Clark was honored by Dr. Judith Christie McAllister and the International Music Department of the Church of God in Christ, as a living legend and influencer during the 105th International Holy Convocation, where Clark also received an honorary doctorate of sacred music from Dr. Tony Lewis and the Christian Bible Institute and Seminary (CBIS).

Finally Karen is the debut solo album of gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard of The Clark Sisters, released on November 4, 1997. The live portion of the album was recorded at Bailey Cathedral in Detroit, Michigan. The album was Grammy-nominated for Best Soul Gospel Album in 1998. The song "The Will of God" launched the gospel career of her daughter Kierra "Kiki" Sheard, who won her first Stellar award from the strength of her vocal performance. Finally Karen also won the Lady Of Soul award for Best Gospel Album the same year.

It's Not Over is an album by multiple Grammy and Stellar award winning gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard, released on January 24, 2006. The album peaked at #4 on the Billboard Top Gospel Charts and #124 on the Billboard Top 200. This is Karen Clark Sheard's debut as a solo artist for Word Records, but not her first foray with the label, as she was signed to Word as a member of the Clark Sisters two decades prior to the album's release. Former gospel artist Desmond Pringle was instrumental in signing Sheard to the label. This is the first Sheard album that does not include any guest appearances at all, not even from daughter Kierra "Kiki" Sheard who had appeared on all of Clark-Sheard's previous solo albums to date. However her son, J. Drew Sheard, played drums for all of the live recorded tracks (1-9), as well as producing the closing track.

The 38th Annual GMA Dove Awards were held on April 25, 2007 recognizing accomplishments of musicians for the year 2006. The show was held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, and was hosted by Brian Littrell, Natalie Grant, and Donnie McClurkin. This was the first year in which the awards were called the "GMA Dove Awards" since the 2006 edition was called the "GMA Music Awards".

Kierra Valencia "Kiki" Sheard-Kelly is an American gospel singer, songwriter, fashion designer, actress, entrepreneur, author and creative director. She is the daughter of gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard and granddaughter of gospel choral director Mattie Moss Clark. Sheard portrayed her mother in the hit Lifetime movie, The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel. After appearing on her mother's and aunt's albums, Sheard broke to the music scene with the release of her debut album I Owe You in 2004. Her hit single "You Don't Know" was inspired by her mother almost losing her life to a fatal blood clot.

WOW Gospel 2006 is a gospel music compilation album from the WOW series. Released on January 31, 2006, it comprises thirty-two songs on a double disc album. The release reached 20 on the Billboard 200 chart in 2006, the highest peak of any of the WOW Gospel series thus far, and made number one on the Top Gospel Albums chart. The album cover pays tribute to Chicago, Illinois.

WOW Gospel #1s included thirty of the number one gospel songs from the past decade on a double CD album. "God in Me" is a song by contemporary gospel group Mary Mary. It was released as the second single from their fourth studio album The Sound (2008). The single features gospel singer Kierra "Kiki" Sheard and was written and produced by both Mary Mary and producer Warryn Campbell, husband of member Erica Campbell. The single is the group's first to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 since their debut single, "Shackles", charted in 2000. The song won Song of the Year at the 25th Annual Stellar Awards.

Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, known professionally as Sinach, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and senior worship leader at Loveworld. She is the first singer-songwriter to top the Billboard Christian Songwriter chart for 12 weeks in a row. Her song "Way Maker", bagged three nominations and won the Song of the Year at the 51st GMA Dove Awards, making her the first Nigerian to win the Award. She also won the BMI song of the year, and in 2021 was recognized by the US Congress while on tour in the United States of America.

The 51st Annual GMA Dove Awards presentation ceremony was recorded on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 through October 5, 2020, at the TBN in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The awards are given by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) recognizing the accomplishments of musicians and other figures within the Christian music industry for the year 2020. The awards show aired on the Trinity Broadcasting Network on Friday, October 30, 2020.

John Drew Sheard, Sr. American Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ (2021–present)

John Drew Sheard, Sr. is an American pastor and minister from Detroit, Michigan, who is the current Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ, a 6 million-member predominantly African-American Holiness Pentecostal denomination that has now grown to become one of the largest African American Pentecostal denominations in the United States. He was elected as the leader of the denomination, in the denomination's first ever all-virtual online election, that was held virtually online due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, on March 20, 2021. He is the first Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ from the state of Michigan and is the pastor of the Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ, one of the denomination's largest churches in Michigan. He also previously served as a member of the General Board, the twelve bishops who make up the national Board of Directors of the COGIC denomination, and as the president of the COGIC International Youth Department, the auxiliary ministry department of the COGIC denomination focused on youth and young adults, from 1997 to 2001, and the International President and Chairman of the COGIC Auxiliaries In Ministry (AIM) convention from 2004 to 2012.
