Enrique Giaverini (born December 20, 1908, date of death unknown) was a Chilean boxer who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics.
In 1936 he was eliminated in the first round of the welterweight class after losing his fight to the upcoming bronze medalist Gerhard Pedersen.

Domènec Balmanya i Perera, also referred to as Domingo Balmaña, was a former Spanish football midfielder and manager who spent most of his playing career at FC Barcelona. As a manager, he guided CF Barcelona to the a Copa del Generalísimo win in 1957 and to victory in the first ever Fairs Cup in 1958. He then had moderately successful spells at Valencia CF, Real Betis and CD Málaga before he guided Atlético Madrid to a La Liga title in 1966. He subsequently managed Spain between 1966 and 1968. After retiring as a coach he worked as a director of sport at both RCD Espanyol and FC Barcelona and as a director at a Catalan coaching school. He also worked as a radio commentator.
Enrique Fernández Viola, commonly referred to as Enrique Fernández, was a Uruguayan football player and manager who played for Nacional, Talleres (RE), Independiente, FC Barcelona, Uruguay and the Catalan XI. As a manager, he won two Uruguayan championships with Nacional and La Liga titles with both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Along with Radomir Antic, he is one of only two coaches to have taken charge of both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid and he is the only coach to have won La Liga titles with both. He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Escolà also played for both Spain and the Catalan XI. After retiring as player in 1948, Escolà managed CF Badalona, CE Sabadell FC, CD Castellón and Levante UD.

The Liberal Party was formally founded in 1883 by Eliodoro Camacho. When the party took power in 1899, it moved the base of the presidency and the Congress to La Paz, which became the de facto capital city. The Supreme Court remained in Sucre. To this day, Sucre is the de jure capital of Bolivia while La Paz acts as the de facto seat of government.

The men's ISSF 25 meter rapid fire pistol was a shooting sports event held as part of the Shooting at the 1948 Summer Olympics programme. It was the eighth appearance of the event. The competition was held on 4 August 1948 at the shooting ranges at London. 59 shooters from 22 nations competed. Nations had been limited to three shooters each since the 1932 Games. The event was won by Károly Takács of Hungary, the nation's first medal in the event. Argentine Carlos Enrique Díaz Sáenz Valiente took silver, also his nation's first rapid fire pistol medal. Unlike Hungary and Argentina, Sweden was no stranger to the podium in this event; Sven Lundquist's bronze made it the fourth consecutive time that Sweden competed it earned a medal.
