Kaarle Ensio Ilmari Helaniemi (till 1936 Helenius, 15 October 1926 Helsinki - December 23, 2009) was a Finnish diplomat, a Master of Law. He was Ambassador to Lagos from 1971 to 1973, then Head of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1976 to 1978, Ambassador to The Hague from 1978 to 1983, then to East Berlin 1983–1986, Foreign Minister's Negotiating Officer 1986-1989 and Ambassador to Brussels 1989–1991. Yuli Vorontsov Soviet and Russian diplomat (1929–2007)

Yuli Mikhailovich Vorontsov was a Soviet and Russian diplomat, President of International Centre of the Roerichs (Moscow). In the mid-1970s he was Chargé d'Affaires at the Soviet embassy in Washington under Ambassador Dobrynin. He was then Ambassador to India (1978-1983) and France (1983-1986). He returned to Moscow to be the first deputy foreign minister (1986-1990) and participated in arms reduction talks with the United States. In 1988-1989, he was simultaneously the Ambassador to Afghanistan as Soviet troops withdrew from the country. He then served as the last Soviet ambassador to United Nations between 1990 and 1991 and as the first Russian Permanent Representative to the UN from 1991 to 1994. After this he served as the Russian ambassador to the United States from 1994 to 1998. In 2000 Vorontsov was chosen as the high-level coordinator for issues related to a paragraph of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1284 which once again required Iraq to face "its obligations regarding the repatriation or return of all Kuwaiti and third country nationals or their remains, [and] the return of all Kuwaiti property [...] seized by Iraq".

Sodankylä Municipality in Lapland, Finland

Sodankylä is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the region of Lapland, and lies at the northern end of Highway 5 (E63) and along Highway 4 (E75). The Kitinen River flows near the center of Sodankylä. Its neighbouring municipalities are Inari, Kemijärvi, Kittilä, Pelkosenniemi, Rovaniemi, and Savukoski. The municipality has two official languages: Finnish and Northern Sami.

Order of the White Rose of Finland Award

The Order of the White Rose of Finland is one of three official orders in Finland, along with the Order of the Cross of Liberty, and the Order of the Lion of Finland. The President of Finland is the Grand Master of all three orders. The orders are administered by boards consisting of a chancellor, a vice-chancellor and at least four members. The orders of the White Rose of Finland and the Lion of Finland have a joint board.

Finland–Spain relations Bilateral relations

Finland–Spain relations refers to the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Spain. Both nations are members of the European Union, the Schengen Area and the eurozone. Diplomatic relations between the two countries have traditionally been good and fruitful and, at the same time, have consolidated an exchange at all levels. Spain is also one of the favorite destinations of Finnish tourism. Approximately ten percent of the Finnish population travels on vacation each year to Spain. Furthermore, the Finns are the fastest growing European community in Málaga, as Fuengirola is home to the second largest community of Finns outside Finland in the world, after Sweden.

Alpo Rusi

Alpo Rusi served in the Foreign Ministry of Finland in several assignments, and from 1994 to 1999 as foreign policy adviser to the President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari. He also served as EU Coordinator for the Sarajevo Summit 1999 and deputy Coordinator of the Stability Pact for Western Balkans in 1999–2000. He worked as professor of International Relations, 2000–2003, at Lapland University and in Hamburg. Later on 2007-2009 he was senior adviser in the Cabinet staff of the President of the UN General Assembly.

Pekka Kullervo Malinen was Ambassador and Minister and Diplomat. He served as the party secretary of the Finnish People's Party in the 1950s.

Horst Grunert was a German diplomat who served as the second Ambassador of East Germany to the United States from 1978 to 1983 and as ambassador to Austria from 1983 to 1986.
