Formentera is a Spanish island located in the Mediterranean Sea, which belongs to the Balearic Islands autonomous community (Spain) together with Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza.
Ibiza is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. It is 150 kilometres from the city of Valencia. It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands in area, but the second-largest by population. Its largest settlements are Ibiza Town, Santa Eulària des Riu, and Sant Antoni de Portmany. Its highest point, called Sa Talaiassa, is 475 metres above sea level.

The Greens–Ecologist Confederation of Catalonia was an ecologist, Catalan nationalist political party in Spain, based in Catalonia. It was founded in March 1994 from the merger of The Greens, Nationalist Left Movement, Green Alternative–Ecologist Movement of Catalonia and Ecologist Alternative of Catalonia.
The Pacte Progressista, officially the Pacte Progressista d'Eivissa, is an electoral alliance formed in Ibiza by the Socialist Party of the Balearic Islands, United Left of Ibiza, The Greens of Ibiza, Entesa Nacionalista i Ecologista and Republican Left of Catalonia to contest the 1999 and 2003 regional elections. Previously, it had contested the 1996 Senate election in the Ibiza–Formentera constituency as Eivissa i Formentera al Senat, and it would also contest the 2000 Senate election as the Pacte per Eivissa i Formentera.
Eivissa pel Canvi was a political platform, and later a political party, formed in the island of Ibiza in 2006, to politically support the social movement against the beginning of constructions of new roads and highways the same year. The platform demanded a change in the Island Council and the Balearic governments, which were both controlled by the People's Party with a majority of seats.

Esquerra Unida–L'Entesa or simply L'Entesa was a Valencian electoral alliance formed by United Left of the Valencian Country (EUPV), Valencian Left (EV) and The Greens (EV/LV) to contest the 2003 Valencian regional election. The alliance also included the Socialist Party of the Valencian Country (PSPV–PSOE) in six municipalities in the judicial district of Sueca to contest the 2003 Spanish local elections.
Entesa per Mallorca, or Entesa, was a nationalist and progressist political party in Majorca. It was founded in 2006 by former members of the Socialist Party of Majorca (PSM) who disagreed with the creation of the coalition Bloc for Majorca. In October 2006, ExM held its first congress, with the main objective of participating in the 2007 local elections in Majorca.

The date range for these opinion polls is from the previous local elections, held on 24 May 2015, to the day the next elections were held, on 26 May 2019.
The 2011 Balearic Island Council elections were held on Sunday, 22 May 2011, to elect the 9th Island Councils of Mallorca and Menorca and the 2nd Island Councils of Formentera and Ibiza. All 72 seats in the four Island Councils were up for election. The elections were held simultaneously with regional elections in thirteen autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain.

Bartomeu Planells Planells was a Spanish businessman and politician. He served as a Member of the Parliament of the Balearic Islands and was Vice-President of the Ibiza and Formentera Insular Council from 1987 to 1991.
