Born in Omaha, Nebraska, he spent his early years in San Francisco, California, and Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating from Woodward High School in 1960. Today, Stoltzman is part of the faculty list at the New England Conservatory and Boston University.

The Really Terrible Orchestra of the Triangle (RTOOT) is an American amateur orchestra which was founded in 2008 by W. Sands Hobgood to encourage reasonably-competent musicians, who have been prevented from playing music with others due to lack of talent or other factors, to rehearse and perform in an ensemble of players of similar ability in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area of North Carolina. Sherman Friedland was Associate Professor of Fine Arts as well as an active clarinetist, professor of music and conductor at Concordia University in Montreal from 1960 until his retirement in 1997. He was conductor and Music Director of the Concordia University Symphony for 17 years, and was clarinetist, director and founder of the Concordia Chamber Players. Sherman Friedland died January 26, 2017.
Alfred Prinz was an Austrian composer, clarinetist, and music educator. In 1947 he was awarded a gold medal at the Geneva Music Competition and in 1971 he won a composition award from the city of Vienna. His compositional output includes 7 symphonies, many concertos, several works for solo piano, songs, and chamber music. In 1998 his Fünf Goethe-Lieder were premiered by soprano Caroline Dowd-Higgins for whom Prinz had composed the pieces. As a concert clarinetist, he performed as a soloist with orchestras throughout the world and performed in concerts of chamber music internationally. He recorded for Ariola Records, Decca Records, Deutsche Grammophon, His Master's Voice, and the Telarc International Corporation among other record labels.

Morris DeRhon Robinson is an American bass opera singer and former All-American college football player who has performed with the Metropolitan Opera, at Carnegie Hall, at La Scala in Milan, Italy, at the Sydney Opera House and in numerous other opera houses throughout the United States and internationally. He has also served as an artistic advisor to the Cincinnati Opera, artist-in-residence for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Resident Artist at Harvard University. He was the first African-American artist to sign with a major classical record label.
