Erin Mullally (born 2 January 1990) is an Australian actor and model best known for playing the role of Declan Napier in Neighbours . Mullally was cast in the role after original actor, James Sorensen, left the show. The character of Declan is Mullally's first major television role. After less than a year with Neighbours, it was announced that Mullally was to leave the show in March 2011.

Career

Mullally was a model. He began his acting career in 2009, and he starred in two films. He played the part of Terry Logan in the 2009 film Resistance, and the part of Rafael in the film Ice in 2010.

On 30 January 2010, Holy Soap announced that the Neighbours character, Declan Napier had been recast and Mullally was given the role. [1] [2] Mullally was asked to audition for Neighbours, but he was not told which role he was auditioning for. [3] Mullally said that he assumed it was for a new character coming onto the show. [3] A couple of days later, Mullally was informed that he had auditioned for the role of Declan and he had been successful. [3] Mullally's first scenes began airing in May 2010.

Mullally has made a comparison between the two versions of Declan stating "One of the writers said to me in a meeting the other day that the changeover between James and me can be best described as James playing Declan as very strong, macho. He liked to get into things and was very proactive. The new Declan is more grown up, quite mature and savvy. He thinks with his head and knows what he wants and doesn't have to use brute force to get it". [4] Commenting on the recast, Mullally said: "James was definitely one of the most popular characters that Neighbours has ever had, which is why the producers wanted to retain the Declan role. Obviously there are going to be fans who aren't happy and, I'll be honest, I didn't set out to win over any James Sorensen fans because they are going to make up their mind. Eventually I will attract my own fanbase". [5]

In October 2010, it was announced that Mullally would be leaving Neighbours after less than a year in the role of Declan. [6] The following year, Mullally joined the cast of Network Ten's children's series Lightning Point , in a recurring role. [7] Mullally appeared in Home and Away as Nathan Cunningham on 7 February 2012. [8] The actor appears in Kath & Kimderella as Prince Juleo. [9]

In 2014, Jonathon Moran from The Daily Telegraph reported that Mullally had become involved with a local Hare Krishna community, through his job at a Sydney café. [10]

Summer Hoyland is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Jordy Lucas. She made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 20 May 2002. The character was originally played by Marisa Siketa from her arrival to her departure in 2005 and her subsequent returns in 2006 and 2007. In October 2009, it was announced that the character was to return to the show. Siketa auditioned for her previous role, but producers felt the character had evolved too much. They decided to cast Lucas instead after she came to their attention during Dolly magazine's "Neighbours Next Big Stars" competition. Summer returned on 11 February 2010. Lucas announced her departure from Neighbours in September 2012 and Summer departed on 10 January 2013. Lucas reprised the role on 30 November 2023.

Andrew Robinson (<i>Neighbours</i>) Fictional character

Andrew Robinson is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Jordan Patrick Smith from 2009 to 2013 and in 2022. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 13 November 1991. Shannon Holmes played the role from the character's birth in 1991 until his departure the following year. Andrew's backstory was subject to retroactive continuity to explain Smith's Scottish accent, and he had his age reduced so that he would be a teenager on his return. Andrew is the only son of Christina Alessi and Paul Robinson. His storylines have included his return to Erinsborough, having an affair with Donna Freedman, fighting with his stepbrother and becoming involved in a love triangle with Natasha Williams and Summer Hoyland. In November 2012, it was announced Smith would be leaving Neighbours and Andrew made his screen departure on 29 March 2013. In 2022, Smith reprised the role for the show's final episode.

Diana Marshall is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Jane Badler. She made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 22 June 2010. Badler had a four-month contract with the show and she began filming her first scenes in April following a successful audition. Badler revealed that the writers are fans of the 1983 television miniseries V, which she starred in, and wrote the role of Diana with her in mind. They named the character Diana in a homage to the role she played in the show. The character departed on 20 September 2010.

"Who Pushed P.R.?" is a storyline from the Australian television soap opera Neighbours, which began on 23 August 2010 with a special week of episodes. The week culminated in the soap's 6000th episode, where the character Paul Robinson is pushed from the Lassiter's Hotel mezzanine by an unseen assailant. The storyline aired as part of the show's 25th anniversary and Dennis's character was made the focus of the storyline as he was the only remaining member of the original cast. The storyline was initially going to see Paul being shot, but the show's G rating prevented the production team from going ahead with it. Events leading up to and following the attempted murder put several characters in the frame, in the style of a whodunit mystery.

Orpheus Pledger is an Australian actor. He played Tycho Everson in the children's series Silversun, and appeared as Noah Parkin in Neighbours in 2011. From 2016 to 2019, Pledger starred as Mason Morgan in the Australian soap opera Home and Away.
