Erling Valvik

Erling Valvik (born 1953) is a Norwegian civil servant.

He hails from Bergen, and after studies in economics, law and public administration at the University of Bergen he graduated with the cand. polit. degree. After some years as a Norad official in Namibia and civil servant in Tromsø he was hired as a financial consultant in Kristiansand municipality in 1982. In 1990 he advanced to chief administrative officer, a position he held until 2002. [1] [2] In 2000, Kristiansand municipality sold stocks in the power company Agder Energi, and 1.7 billion kr of the sales fee were funneled to a new cultural foundation, Cultiva. As chief administrative officer Valvik was one of the architects behind the foundation, together with prominent local politicians such as Bjarne Ugland and Tore Austad. In 2002, Valvik applied for the job as managing director of Cultiva, and was hired after edging out 54 other applicants. [3]

In early February 2004, Valvik was selected as chairman of the Southern Norway Regional Health Authority. An entirely new board was composed, [4] after the Minister of Health Dagfinn Høybråten relieved the old board of their positions. The board had split over the proposed removal of chief executive Steinar Stokke. [5] With the new board in place, Stokke resigned after less than two weeks. [6] Valvik remained chairman until 2006, when a new policy was decided to select active politicians as board members to a larger degree. [7] In 2009, Valvik became deputy board member of Tromsø municipality's cultural foundation Intro. [8] In 2011 he applied for the position as County Governor of Sogn og Fjordane, but was not appointed. [9]

Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik is an international airport serving Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. The airport is located in the district of Tveit in the Oddernes borough, about 16 kilometers (9.9 mi) by road and 8 kilometers (5.0 mi) by air from the center of town of Kristiansand. Operated by the state-owned Avinor, it is the sole airport in Southern Norway with scheduled flights. Kjevik has a 2,035-meter (6,677 ft) runway aligned 03/21 and served 1,061,130 passengers in 2018. Scheduled flights are provided by Scandinavian Airlines, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Widerøe, KLM Cityhopper and Wizz Air. The Royal Norwegian Air Force has a training center at the airport.

Vidar Sveinung Kleppe is a Norwegian politician. He was a member of parliament and deputy leader of the Progress Party until he was suspended and left the party in 2001. He was the leader of the Democrats party from 2002 to 2012, and has since 2003 held office as a member of the Vest-Agder county council and the Kristiansand municipal council.

Einfrid Daghild Halvorsen is a Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Labour Party. She was mayor of Skien from 1983 to 1986, a State Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Labour from 1986 to 1987 and Minister of Administration and Consumer Affairs from 1988 to 1989. After quitting politics, she worked as secretary-general of Mental Helse from 1991 to 2005.

SAS Commuter

SAS Commuter, also branded as Scandinavian Commuter, was a regional airline which operated in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. A sister company of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), it operated various regional services on behalf of the Scandinavian flag carrier. The airline was headquartered at Copenhagen Airport, which also served as its main base. It later also operated bases at Tromsø Airport; Stockholm Arlanda Airport; Trondheim Airport, Værnes and Bergen Airport, Flesland.

Sør Arena Football stadium in Torsvika, Norway

Sparebanken Sør Arena is a football stadium located at Torsvika in Kristiansand, Norway. The all-seater has a capacity of 14,563 people, and serves as the home ground of Tippeligaen side IK Start. It was designed by Kjell Kosberg, and is architecturally similar to Aker Stadion. The venue has seen concerts by Elton John, Dolly Parton and A-ha, among others.. UEFA refers to the stadium as Kristiansand Arena.

Country-wide local elections for seats in municipality and county councils were held throughout Norway on 10 September 2007, with some areas polling on 9 September as well. For most places this meant that two elections, the municipal elections and the county elections ran concurrently. In addition, several municipalities held direct mayoral elections.

Farsund Airport, Lista

Farsund Airport, Lista is an airport situated on the Lista peninsula in the municipality of Farsund in Agder county, Norway. The village of Vestbygd lies on the southwest side of the airport and the small village of Ore lies on the northeast side. The airport features a 2,990-meter (9,810 ft) concrete runway aligned 14/32. Previously it also had a 1,494-meter (4,902 ft) runway aligned 09/27. Farsund Airport, Lista is the civilian sector of the now closed Lista Air Station. Previously a regional airport, it is now only used for general aviation.
