Esther Choi is an American chef, hotel owner, and television personality. She is best known for her appearances on Food Network shows and her contributions to the culinary scene in New York City.
Choi was born in New Jersey and raised in Egg Harbor Township; she attended Egg Harbor Township High School, where she enjoyed classes in home economics. [1] [2] Her Korean grandmother would often cook Korean dishes, [3] and taught Choi to make kimchi. [4] Choi and her parents lived in South Korea for three years during her childhood. Back in the United States, Choi began working in restaurants at age 14. [2]
Choi graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. [2]
Choi has made a name for herself through television appearances on shows like Bobby's Triple Threat, Throwdown with Michael Symon, Chopped, Battle of the Brothers, and Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend. Choi served as the host of the Hot Ones spinoff Heat Eaters. In April 2024, she began co-hosting Food Network series 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing [5]
Choi opened her first restaurant, mŏkbar, of which she is a chef and owner, in 2014. [2] The restaurant serves dumplings made from her grandmother's recipe. [3] She later opened a second location in Brooklyn. [4] She is a chef and a partner at Ms. Yoo in Manhattan, which is named after her grandmother. [4]

Iron Chef America is an American cooking show based on Fuji Television's Iron Chef, and is the second American adaptation of the series, following the failed Iron Chef USA that aired in 2001. The show is produced by Food Network, which also carried a dubbed version of the original Iron Chef. Like the original Japanese program, the program is a culinary game show. In each episode, a new challenger chef competes against one of the resident "Iron Chefs" in a one-hour cooking competition based on a secret ingredient or ingredients, and sometimes theme.

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef, television personality, and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. She was also one of the Iron Chefs, Mario Batali's sous chefs in the Iron Chef America series and appears on other programs on the network such as The Best Thing I Ever Ate. She was a contestant on the fourth season of The Food Network competition show, The Next Iron Chef Super Chefs being eliminated in episode 6. She was also a contestant on the first season of Chopped All-Stars Tournament, winning the "Food Network Personalities" preliminary round to advance to the final round, where she placed second runner up to Nate Appleman (winner) and Aarón Sanchez. In 2015, Burrell won the fourth installment of the Chopped All-Stars tournament winning $75,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She also hosted the series Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell in 2012–2013.
Robert Paul Irvine is an English celebrity chef and talk show host who has appeared on and hosted a variety of Food Network programs including Dinner: Impossible, Worst Cooks in America, Restaurant: Impossible, A Hero's Welcome, Operation Restaurant, All-Star Academy, Guy's Grocery Games, Chopped: Impossible, and Restaurant Express. Irvine currently operates one restaurant, Fresh Kitchen by Robert Irvine, located within The Pentagon. He also operated Robert Irvine's Public House at the Tropicana resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 2017 until the closure of the Tropicana in 2024. She is the co-owner and executive chef of three award-winning Chicago restaurants, Girl and the Goat, Little Goat, and Duck Duck Goat, and opened her first restaurant, Scylla as chef-owner at the age of 27. Izard received a James Beard Foundation Award for "Best Chef: Great Lakes" in 2013 for her work at Girl and the Goat. She has made a number of appearances on Top Chef since her win, both as a guest judge on subsequent seasons and as a participant in Top Chef Duels. In 2017, Izard competed in the Food Network series Iron Chef Gauntlet, where she overall defeated chefs Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, and Masaharu Morimoto to obtain the title of Iron Chef.
