Ethan Hart Minsker (born August 25, 1969) is an American writer, filmmaker, artist, fanzine publisher and founding member of the Antagonist Movement. [1] [2] His work has received a feature in the French-edition of Vice magazine. [3]
A music video Minsker made for the Washington punk band Desiderata [4] was featured on the independent section of MTV's 120 Minutes. His thesis project Amorosis, a 30-minute, 16 mm narrative film, was a finalist at the New York Film Festival. After graduating with honors, Minsker began working on independent films and music videos as a grip and electric. [5]
Minsker's first music documentary was Anything Boys Can Do. The film was exhibited at Exit Art Gallery and the Brooklyn Museum. [6] The film won several awards and played in 50 film festivals worldwide. [7] [8]
Anything Boys Can Do was followed by The Stick Up Artists in 1999, The Soft Hustle (2000), Mark of the Ninja (2004), Touching a Van Gogh (2004), [9] This Is Berlin, Not New York (2008), and The Dolls of Lisbon in 2011, which was featured as part of a special screening at the Queens Museum of Art in New York City. Self Medicated (2014) is a documentary film about art, artists, and their struggles to stay happy. It documents the history of the Antagonist Movement and the artists involved. [11]
Man In Camo: The Art and Artist (2018) takes a close look at the life of Ethan Minsker and his drive to create and crusade the making of art. Through the lens of old photographs and films, Minsker leads viewers on a journey through the hurdles that once held him back, from dyslexia to the violence of 1980s Washington D.C. It was these hurdles that forged his love of film and art, and his work now spans over three decades. Man In Camo brings forth not just the love of art, but the reasons for making it in the first place.
Minsker has published several books starting with Rich Boy Cries For Momma, [12] which was featured in the art show "I Bleed Black" at the Marianne Boesky Gallery. [13] Barstool Prophets followed in 2011 and is a fictional memoir. [14]

For services to the visual arts, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2011. Antoine Fuqua is an American film director known for his work in the action and thriller genres. He was originally known as a director of music videos, and made his film debut in 1998 with The Replacement Killers. His critical breakthrough was the 2001 crime thriller Training Day, winning the Black Reel Award for Outstanding Director.
Jessica Jackson Hutchins is an American artist from Chicago, Illinois who is based in Portland, Oregon. Her practice consists of large scale ceramics, multi-media installations, assemblage, and paintings all of which utilize found objects such as old furniture, ceramics, worn out clothes, and newspaper clippings. She is most recognizable for her sloppy craft assemblages of furniture and ceramics. Her work was selected for the 2010: Whitney Biennial, featured in major art collections, and has been exhibited throughout the United States and internationally, in Iceland, the UK, and Germany.

The earliest known works of Vincent van Gogh comprise a group of paintings and drawings that Vincent van Gogh made when he was 27 and 28, in 1881 and 1882. Over the course of the two-year period Van Gogh lived in several places. He left Brussels, where he had studied for about a year in 1881, to return to his parents’ home in Etten, where he made studies of some of the residents of the town. In January 1882 Van Gogh went to The Hague where he studied with his cousin-in-law Anton Mauve and set up a studio, funded by Mauve. SoFlo Superflat describes an art genre started in Miami in the 1990s. It is an urban pop art movement in South Florida that combines super bright colors and ultra flat images. The subject matters are very diverse. It is an outcrop of the Japanese Superflat movement, founded by the artist Takashi Murakami.
The Antagonist Art Movement was a cultural movement formed in New York City in 2000. The group grew out of desperation and in reaction to the New York art market. The movement primarily involves visual arts, literature, film, art manifestos and graphic design. The Antagonist Art Movement articulates its anti-commercial politics through a rejection of the prevailing standards in the art market and focuses its efforts on creating non-commercial cultural works and venues. Its purpose is to ridicule the meaninglessness, superficiality and artificiality of the commercial art world. The Antagonists foster emerging talent by providing opportunities for the exhibition of works, networking with other artists, mentoring and resources. The Antagonist Movement has worked with more than 3,500 artists from around the world over the past 14 years.
Psycho Moto Zine is a periodical published from the late 1980s to the present day, consisting mostly of short stories, reviews, and artwork. This fanzine would be the birth of the Antagonist Art Movement, a consortium of like-minded artists, writers, filmmakers, etc.
Steven Naifeh is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American biographer of both Jackson Pollock and Vincent van Gogh. In addition to writing 18 books with Gregory White Smith, Naifeh is a businessman who founded several companies, including Best Lawyers that spawned an industry of professional rankings.

Bleed for This is a 2016 American biographical sports film written and directed by Ben Younger and based on the life of former world champion boxer Vinny Pazienza. The film stars Miles Teller as Pazienza, with Aaron Eckhart, Katey Sagal, Ciarán Hinds, and Ted Levine in supporting roles.
Ethan Cohen is an American collector and art dealer based in New York City who specialises in contemporary Chinese art and contemporary African art. He was one of the first western dealers to sell work by contemporary Japanese and Chinese artists including Ushio Shinohara and Ai Weiwei. He has been called "one of the most influential art dealers in the world". Forbes praised his gallery as an "exemplar in the field", putting on "resplendent, probing shows".
Chris Moukarbel is a film director, writer, producer, contemporary artist and runs the award winning production company Permanent Wave Productions. His first feature documentary Me at the Zoo premiered in competition at Sundance Film Festival in 2012 and was acquired by HBO Documentaries. The film charts the rise of YouTube and tells the story of an early viral Internet celebrity, Chris Crocker of “Leave Britney Alone!” fame. Moukarbel was approached by Sheila Nevins to direct the Emmy nominated documentary Banksy Does New York for HBO.
Loving Vincent is a 2017 adult animated drama film about the life of the painter Vincent van Gogh, in particular the circumstances of his death. It is the first fully painted animated feature film. The film, written and directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, is a Polish-UK co-production, funded by the Polish Film Institute, and partially through a Kickstarter campaign.
At Eternity's Gate is a 2018 biographical drama film about the final years of painter Vincent van Gogh's life. The film dramatizes the controversial theory put forward by van Gogh biographers Steven Naifeh and Gregory White Smith, in which they speculate that van Gogh's death was caused by manslaughter rather than suicide.
