The European Azerbaijan Society is a lobbying group founded in 2008 which was known for sponsoring luxurious trips for European politicians to travel to Azerbaijan and promoting the authoritarian regime in Azerbaijan. [1] [2] [3] The group was involved in the Azerbaijani laundromat scandal.
In 2006, Tale Heydarov, the son of Azerbaijani minister of emergency situations Kamaladdin Heydarov, [3] established the London Azerbaijan Society. In 2008, the group was named The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS). [4]
Initially, the society had two directors – Nijat Heydarov and Tale Heydarov. They were in this position from 2008 until May 2013. From that date to present, the society's director and company secretary has been Lionel David Zetter. [5] Shahin Namati-Nasab was the company secretary from 2008 to 2011. From 2011 to 2013 this position was occupied by Nijat Heydarov. In 2013, the first corporate secretary showed up on the stage – Legis Secretarial Services Limited. In 2014, it was replaced by Nsm Services Limited. [5]
The national flag of Azerbaijan, often referred to in Azerbaijani as Üçrəngli bayraq, is a horizontal tricolour that features three equally sized bars of bright blue, red, and green; a white crescent; and a centred eight-pointed star. The flag has become the predominant and most recognizable symbol of Azerbaijan. The bright blue represents Azerbaijan's Turkic heritage, the red represents progress, and the green represents Islam, which is Azerbaijan's majority religion.

A member of the Conservative Party, he served as a Member of the European Parliament for South East England from 1999 to 2019. Neftçi Peşəkar Futbol Klubu, known simply as Neftçi or Neftchi Baku in English-speaking media, is an Azerbaijani professional football club based in the capital, Baku, that plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the highest tier of Azerbaijan football. The club was founded on 18 March 1937 and played under the name of Neftyanik until 1968. Since then he has been competing under the name of Neftçi.

FC Baku is an Azerbaijani football club based in Baku that has been an amateur club since 2016. Prior to that, Baku played 18 seasons in the Azerbaijan Premier League, winning the championship twice and the National Cup three times. The club ceased operations in 2018.
Islam is the majority religion in Azerbaijan, but the country is considered to be the most secular in the Muslim world. Estimates include 96.9% and 99.2% of the population identifying as Muslim. Most are adherents of Shia Islam (55-85%), while a significant minority (15-45%) are Sunni. Traditionally, the differences between these two branches of Islam have not been sharply defined in Azerbaijan.

The TaxPayers' Alliance (TPA) is a pressure group in the United Kingdom which was formed in 2004 to campaign for a low-tax society. The group had about 18,000 registered supporters as of 2008 and claimed to have 55,000 by September 2010. However, it has been suggested that a vast majority of these supporters – who do not contribute financially or engage in campaigning – were simply signed up to a mailing list.
Çeşməbasar is a village and municipality in the Babek District of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It is located in the left side of the Nakhchivan-Ordubad highway, 8 km from the district center, on the plain. Its population is busy with grain-growing and animal husbandry. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in London opened in 1994. Both countries are members of the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
Ilham Heydar oghlu Aliyev is an Azerbaijani politician serving as the fourth President of Azerbaijan since 31 October 2003. He is former Prime Minister of Azerbaijan.
The Taraggi Medal – is the state award of Azerbaijan Republic. The award was created by Heydar Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on December 6, 1993 by the Decree No. 758.
Kamaladdin Heydarov Fattah oglu is an Azerbaijani politician, businessperson and composer serving as the Minister of Emergency Situations. He has close ties to the ruling Aliyev family in Azerbaijan. BBC News described Heydarov as among "the wealthiest and most powerful in the governing elite" in Azerbaijan.
Most Azerbaijanis receive their information from mainstream television, which is unswervingly pro-government and under strict government control. According to a 2012 report of the NGO "Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety (IRFS)" Azerbaijani citizens are unable to access objective and reliable news on human rights issues relevant to Azerbaijan and the population is under-informed about matters of public interest.
Tale Heydarov is an Azerbaijani businessperson and lobbyist. He is the son of Kamaladdin Heydarov, the Azerbaijan minister for emergency situations.
Hidayet Heydarov is an Azerbaijani judoka who won a gold medal at the 2017 European Judo Championships. He defeated his teammate Rustam Orujov at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games final.
