Eva Bexell (born 1945) is a Swedish author of children's books. She debuted in 1976 with the book Prostens barnbarn. [1] [2] Her books have been translated to Danish, English, Finnish, Japanese, Norwegian and German, and as of November 2007, sold over 560,000 copies. [1]

Contents

The three books with morfar prosten has been released as audio books, with Margaretha Krook as narrator. Prostens barnbarn and Kalabalik hos morfar prosten was broadcast as a radio series in 1975, [3] [4] and Opp och hoppa, morfar prosten! was recorded in 1992. [5]

George Klein was a Hungarian–Swedish microbiologist and public intellectual. Specializing in cancer research, he was professor of tumour biology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm from 1957 to 1992, a chair created for him, and as professor emeritus continued to work as research group leader in the microbiology and tumor biology center. Samfundet De Nio is a Swedish literary society founded on 14 February 1913 in Stockholm by a testamentary donation from writer Lotten von Kraemer. The society has nine members who are elected for life. Its purpose is to promote Swedish literature, peace and women's issues. It mainly presents a number of literary awards. It was started as an alternative to the Swedish Academy and is often compared to its more noted cousin.

Nina Hemmingsson is a Swedish cartoonist. She draws foremost shorter comics, often single-panel cartoons featuring political and social criticism. An example of Hemingsson's work is Bäst i början. Her work has been published in the magazines Galago and Bang, the Uppsala student newspaper Ergo, and the newspaper Aftonbladet. She has also released three books, Hjälp! ("Help!"), Jag är din flickvän nu, and Demoner - ett bestiarium for the publisher Ruin. Ahead of the 2010 wedding of Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, and Daniel Westling she made an anti-royalistic cartoon called "Prinsessan & Gemålen" for Aftonbladet.

Solen glimmar blank och trind is Epistle No. 48 in the Swedish poet and performer Carl Michael Bellman's 1790 song collection, Fredman's Epistles. The Epistle is subtitled "Hvaruti afmålas Ulla Winblads hemresa från Hessingen i Mälaren en sommarmorgon 1769". One of his best-known and best-loved works, it depicts an early morning on Lake Mälaren, as the Rococo muse Ulla Winblad sails back home to Stockholm after a night spent partying on the lake. The composition is one of Bellman's two Bacchanalian lake-journeys, along with epistle 25, representing a venture into a social realism style.

Pro Fide et Christianismo is a Christian association within the Church of Sweden. The organization was an "informal or semi-official national school board" prior to the founding of Sweden's public education system and made a significant impact on Sweden's early education system.
