The women's shot put F54-56 event at the 2008 Summer Paralympics took place at the Beijing National Stadium at 09:05 on 8 September. There was a single round of competition; after the first three throws, only the top eight had 3 further throws. The competition was won by Eva Kacanu, representing Czech Republic.

This was the nation's seventh time competing in the Summer Paralympic Games after it first entered the movement at the 1992 Summer Paralympics. The Panamanian delegation to Rio de Janeiro consisted of two athletes: shot put thrower Francisco Cedeño Almengor and javelin thrower Iveth Valdes Romero. Almengor ranked eleventh out of twelve athletes in the men's shot put F54–55 competition and Romero placed in the same position in the women's javelin F55–F56 event.

She is a gold medalist and a two-time silver medalist in the women's shot put F54 event at the World Para Athletics Championships.
