Ezekiel Warigbani

Pastor Ezekiel Warigbani Zebulun, also known as Ezekiel Warigbani is Nigerian politician and youth advocate. [1] He studied at the University of Port Harcourt and Eastern University. He was the Governorship candidate of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) in the 2019 Rivers State gubernatorial election. Aftermath of the election, he led the Coalition of all Governorship Candidates and Party Chairmen in Rivers State [2] to Independent National Electoral Commission office in Port Harcourt on protest against the winner of the election Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. Presently, he is in a strong alliance with the Nigerian transportation minister, Rt.Hon. Rotimi Amaechi for a riverine governor of Rivers State in the forth coming 2023 Rivers State gubernatorial election. [3]

The Politics of Rivers State function within the framework of a presidential republic, with the Governor of Rivers State as both head of state and head of government. Rivers State is known for a politically engaged citizenry. The official seat of government is in Port Harcourt. Under the Constitution, Executive power is vested in the Governor. This does not change the fact that such authority may also be exercised through the Deputy Governor or Commissioners. Legislative power is vested in a 32-member unicameral House of Assembly. Judicial power is exercised solely by the judiciary of Rivers State.

The Rivers State gubernatorial election took place on 9 March 2019, concurrently with various other Nigerian state level elections. A rerun of the vote was held in Abua–Odual, Ahoada West, Gokana and Opobo–Nkoro on 13 April. One-term incumbent Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike of the People's Democratic Party was eligible to run for re-election. He won in 2015 with 87.77% of the vote.

Great Ovedje Ogboru is a Nigerian businessman and politician who was the gubernatorial candidate for the Alliance of Democracy, the Democratic Peoples' Party and the Labour Party in the 2003, 2007 and 2015 Delta State governorship elections. The last regular gubernatorial elections for all states were in 2019. All states have a two term limit for Governors which makes 18 incumbent governors ineligible for re-election.

Dr. Alabo George-Kelly, also known as Alabo Dakorinama George Kelly, is a Nigerian politician and technocrat. The Kalabari-born surveyor was appointed the honourable commissioner, Rivers State Ministry of Works by Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State. Prior to his appointment into the Executive Council of Rivers State, he was a principal manager (infrastructure) in the Niger Delta Development Commission. He also contested the Rivers State 2022 People's Democratic Party gubernatorial primary election, where he came second after Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the governor-elect of Rivers State.
