Lotus 1-2-3 is a discontinued spreadsheet program from Lotus Software. It was the first killer application of the IBM PC, was hugely popular in the 1980s, and significantly contributed to the success of IBM PC-compatibles.

Wingz was a spreadsheet program sold by Informix in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Originally developed for the Macintosh, it was later ported to Microsoft Windows, OS/2, NeXTSTEP and several other commercial flavors of Unix. In spite of many positive reviews, including one calling it "clearly the spreadsheet of the future", the market was rapidly entrenching Microsoft Excel. Informix eventually gave up on the desktop market and reverted solely to database sales in the mid-1990s. Claris licensed and sold an extensively cleaned up version as Claris Resolve in 1991, but it was far too late to market to have any effect.
Sage 300 is the name for the mid-market Sage ERP line of enterprise management and accounting applications, primarily serving small and medium-sized businesses. Since 2004, Sage 300 is developed by Sage. In 2012, Sage renamed ACCPAC to Sage 300.
In bookkeeping, a general ledger, is a bookkeeping ledger in which accounting data is posted from journals and aggregated from subledgers, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, fixed assets, purchasing and projects. A ledger account is created for each account in the chart of accounts for an organization, are classified into account categories, such as income, expense, assets, liabilities and equity, and the collection of all these accounts is known as the general ledger. The general ledger holds financial and non-financial data for an organization. Each account in the general ledger consists of one or more pages. An organization's statement of financial position and the income statement are both derived from income and expense account categories in the general ledger.
Essbase is a multidimensional database management system (MDBMS) that provides a platform upon which to build analytic applications. Essbase began as a product from Arbor Software, which merged with Hyperion Software in 1998. Oracle Corporation acquired Hyperion Solutions Corporation in 2007, as of 2009 Oracle markets Essbase as "Oracle Essbase", both on-premises and in Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Until late 2005 IBM also marketed an OEM version of Essbase as DB2 OLAP Server.
Javelin Software Corporation (1984–1988) was a company in Cambridge, Massachusetts which developed an innovative modeling and data analysis product, also called Javelin, and later Javelin Plus. Seen as the successor technology to spreadsheet software in reviews of the time, and rival to the then-dominant Lotus 1-2-3, Javelin won numerous industry awards, including besting Microsoft's new Excel for the InfoWorld Software Product of the Year award.
Power Plus Pro is a piece of financial software produced by Reuters Group in the form of an addin for Microsoft Office Excel. A real-time data engine, it pushes new data into Excel when it receives notification of updates from a Reuters TIBCO bus or from Thomson Reuters' RMDS. This commonly involves live market data, such as stock prices, from a financial exchange. Using the addin, Excel can also contribute information to the TIBCO bus or to RMDS; such information then becomes available to other permissioned users using the addin on another computer or using Reuters 3000 Xtra stand-alone software. Power Plus Pro also has features which allow retrieval of historical market data.

The software is targeting growing small businesses that require more than basic accounting software: with fewer than 25 employees and less than $10 million of revenue. It is part of Microsoft Dynamics family. It is based on Microsoft Dynamics GP and runs on top of free Microsoft MSDE or SQL Server Express database. Microsoft Small Business Financials and Microsoft Dynamics GP are built on the same platform, so migration to Microsoft Dynamics GP is very simple and straightforward.
