The FCS Bowl or FCS National Bowl is an independently operated annual post-season college football all-star game, played each December in Florida since 2014. The game showcases NFL draft prospects of those collegiate players who have completed their eligibility in NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), although the game does feature players from other football divisions as well. The game is played as a doubleheader with the National Bowl Game.

History

The FCS Bowl was first played in December 2014 at Riccardo Silva Stadium on the campus of Florida International University (FIU). [1] The game is organized by East Preps LLC, who operate the game independently. [2] After two years, the game moved to Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida. [3]

The game and an associated scouting combine provide opportunity for players from smaller colleges to get exposure with scouts from various professional leagues, including the NFL and CFL. [4] Additionally, NFL Films distributes game and practice film to NFL teams. [5] Organizers report that 26 players from the December 2015 games (National Bowl Game and FCS Bowl) reached the NFL in some capacity. [6] At the December 2016 game, 14 NFL teams were represented, with over 30 scouts in attendance. [3]

Florida Atlantic Owls Intercollegiate sports teams of Florida Atlantic University

The Florida Atlantic Owls are the athletics teams of Florida Atlantic University. The Owls participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)'s Division I as members of Conference USA. FAU accepted the invitation to join the American Athletic Conference on October 21, 2021. Old Dominion Monarchs football College football team

The Old Dominion Monarchs football team is the college football program for Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. The first iteration of the team created in 1930 was known as the William & Mary Norfolk Division Braves. The current Monarchs team founded in 2009 competed at the FCS level as an unaffiliated team for their first two seasons. In the 2011 season, they joined the Colonial Athletic Association of the FCS and added conference games to their schedule, playing there until joining the FBS's Conference USA in 2014. They will join the Sun Belt Conference in 2022.

T. Y. Hilton American football player (born 1989)

Eugene Marquis "T. Y." Hilton is an American football wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at FIU, and was drafted by the Colts in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

The Stetson Hatters football program is the intercollegiate American football team for Stetson University located in the U.S. state of Florida. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the Pioneer Football League. Stetson's first football team was fielded in 1901, but the school dropped the sport in 1956 and did not reinstate it until 2013. The National Bowl Game is an independently operated annual post-season college football all-star game, currently played each December at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida. The game showcases NFL draft prospects of those collegiate players who have completed their eligibility in NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA. Since 2014, the game has been played as a doubleheader with the FCS Bowl.

Cooper Kupp American football player (born 1993)

Cooper Douglas Kupp is an American football wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Eastern Washington, where he won the Walter Payton Award as a junior, and was selected by the Rams in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Kupp had a breakout season in 2021 when he became the fourth NFL player to lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He received the Offensive Player of the Year Award and was the MVP of Super Bowl LVI.

The games began on December 17, 2016, and aside from the all-star games ended with the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship which was played on January 9, 2017.

Elandon Roberts American football player (born 1994)

Elandon Roberts is an American football linebacker for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at University of Houston. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He plays primarily as a linebacker on defense, but when injuries during the 2019 season left the Patriots without a fullback on the roster, Roberts began to play that position as well.

The 2017–18 NCAA football bowl games was a series of college football bowl games which completed the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The games began on December 16, 2017, and aside from the all-star games ended with the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship which was played on January 8, 2018.

José Borregales is a Venezuelan football placekicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Florida International and the University of Miami.
