Football Club Chirpan (Bulgarian : ФК Чирпан) are a Bulgarian football club based in Chirpan, who compete in the Regional Group – zone Stara Zagora, the fourth level of Bulgarian football.

History

The club was founded as Yavorov in 1929. The team finally became known as FC Chirpan in 1981.

In 1983, as a B Group team, they contested the Cup of the Soviet Army Final for the only time in their history, losing 3–1 to Lokomotiv Plovdiv. [1]

The 1983 Cup of the Soviet Army Final was the 1st final of the Cup of the Soviet Army, and was contested between Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Chirpan on 1 June 1983 at Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia. Lokomotiv won the final 3–1.

FC Lokomotiv Dryanovo

FC Lokomotiv Dryanovo is a Bulgarian football club from the town of Dryanovo, currently playing in the Bulgarian North-West V AFG, the third division of Bulgarian football. Its home matches take place at the Lokomotiv Stadium with a 3,500-seat capacity. Club colors are red and black. The club was officially founded in 1927, after by the merging of FC Boyuv Yaz and FC Old Hero. In 1958 the club was a Bulgarian champion of the railwaymen. In 1993/94 Lokomotiv Dryanovo qualified for Round of 16 of the Bulgarian Cup, but were eliminated by the FC Chirpan after 0-0 in first leg and 0-3 in second leg. Plamen Nikolov, Martin Kushev and Stanislav Genchev is a players whose career began at the Lokomotiv. In 2005 Lokomotiv Dryanovo went to bankrupt, but one year later the club was restored by Georgi Valev.

Cup of the Soviet Army (1983–1990) was a secondary cup tournament in Bulgaria between 1983 and 1990. The winners qualify for the UEFA Cup, unless they have qualified for the European Cup through their league position, in which case the UEFA Cup berth goes to the highest-placed team from the A Group not already qualified for Europe. The tournament declined and was discontinued after 1990.

The 1974–75 Bulgarian Cup was the 35th season of the Bulgarian Cup. Slavia Sofia won the competition, beating Lokomotiv Sofia 3–2 in the final at the Vasil Levski National Stadium.
